One Year in Office: Bellumi reinstates commitment to inclusive representation

The Member representing Isin Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. AbdulRazaq Omotosho Populaly known as Bellumi, today lauded the people of Isin constituency for entrusting him with their mandate in 2023 elections, saying he would always toe the path of inclusiveness in his mission to deliver good representation.

Bellumi said he will continue to patronize the development of his constituency and the welfare of his constituents.

"I hold you in the highest esteem, my constituency is always my priority, I know so much are being expected from me but I promise to do my very best to ensure a better Isin that will be the cynosure of all.

As we look ahead to the future, we remain committed to working tirelessly on behalf of our constituents, advocating for positive change and progress. Your support and partnership are essential as we continue this journey together, striving to create a more inclusive and prosperous community for all." he said.

Bellumi said that since he became elected leader, he had impacted on the people via schorlaship to constituents, free JAMB distribution, drilling of motorised boreholes, widows empowerment, installation of solar street lights, among others.

He said more dividends of democracy would accrue to the constituency and would ensure that what was due to his people come to them, while thanking the constituents for reposing their confidence in him.

Hon. Bellumi Celebrates Speaker Danladi on the occasion of his birthday

Bellumi commits funds to water projects, engage KWATRECO trainees

In his efforts towards improving access to drinking water as well as preventing diseases outbreak, The Member representing Isin Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. AbdulRazaq Omotosho Populaly known as Bellumi has begun fixing of non~functional boreholes across the Isin Local Government Area.

This effort is to complements the ongoing efforts of the Governor AbdulRahman administration to make potable water available to residents of the state.

The spending on water aligns with His Excellency’s ongoing investments in Partnership for Expanded Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (PEWASH). These efforts are glaring and impactful, and we are making appreciable progress.”

I hereby enjoined my constituents to be patient with me, as I am committed to steadily meet their water needs in phases as the resources permit,” a statement quoted the House of Assembly Member Hon. Bellumi as saying.

In his reaction, a community leader in Oke-Onigbin, Mallam Adeyemi Salami commended Hon. AbdulRazaq Omotosho Bellumi for the great gesture and providing other social amenities for his constituents.

Honourable Bellumi is also planning to engage the service of the Kwara Training, Repair, Empowerment and Community~ownership (KWATRECO) trainees from Isin Local Government.

KWATRECO is a Kwara State Government initiative designed to gradually identify, select, and fix public amenities as well as empower community members in modern methods of fixing faulty public infrastructure across all the 16 Local Government Areas. It will also encourage communities to take ownership of public-funded projects in their areas.

Some of the towns that have benefitted in the first phases of the Bellumi's water intervention are; Oke Onigbin, Iwo among others.

I felicitate with all my constituents, Kwarans, and Nigerians, especially the Muslim Ummah, on the occasion of this year’s Eid El Fitr, which marks the completion of the Ramadan fast.

I congratulate Muslims in Isin, Kwara, Nigeria, and around the world on the successful completion of this month-long spiritual journey of fasting, prayer and almsgiving in obedience to the Divine Command.

I sincerely pray that the Almighty Allah will reward our sacrifices with increased blessing and a more prosperous future.

On this happy occasion, it is my strong belief that all true followers of Islam have been rejuvenated on the true meaning and essence of life and through the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), we have learnt to imbibe the virtues of piety, sacrifice, love, self-denial and good conduct in our daily relationship with one another.

As we celebrate another Eid El Fitr, I admonish all patriotic Kwarans and Nigerians to uphold these lessons and also appreciate the numerous material and human blessings God has endowed us with.

Hon. Bellumi Mourns Mother of Deputy Gov Alabi

The Honourable member representing Isin Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. AbdulRazaq Omotosho Bellumi, extends his heartfelt condolences to the Kwara State Deputy Governor, Elder Kayode Alabi and his family on the passing of matriarch of the family, Mama Ena Maud Alabi (née Aljoe).

Mama Ena Maud Alabi who breathed his last today at the ripe age of 98 was a beacon of wisdom and guidance to countless souls. Mama was known for her selflessness and unwavering devotion to her faith.

Though she may have departed from our midst, her spirit remains ever-present, etched in the hearts of those she touched.

"As we bid farewell to Mama, I pray that the Almighty God grants eternal repose to her soul and grants fortitude to the family to bear this irreparable loss, I pray that they find solace and strength in the memories of their beloved matriarch."

BEN THOMAS HOTELS KABBA: An hotel of over 360 rooms, is still the largest hotel in Middle Belt region of Nigeria.

Neglected And A Wasting Asset.

This is Ben Thomas Hotels, the largest hotel in the old Kwara state.

This gigantic and magnificent edifice was erected in 1981/1982 and commissioned in 1983.

It's located at Iyah, a suburb of Kabba, Kogi state.

During the commissioning, the duo of King Sunny Ade and General Kollington Ayinla thrilled the invited guests and the publics with danceable songs.

Kabba Kingdom was agog with pomp and pageantry, people from all walks of life thronged the ancient province to savour the splendour and grandeur of the palatial edifice.

The much talked about Kwara hotels is less than 200 rooms, while Shiroro hotels in Minna is about 180 rooms. Confluence Beach and Kogi hotels both in Lokoja ate lagging behind the magnificent Ben Thomas.

Today, the story has changed. The once prestigious hotel is now a shadow of itself, wearing an unkempt, ramshackle and rickety look and has gone moribund.

Albeit, the structure is still intact, but abandoned and wasting. It has been in a sorry state for the past 35years.

This hotel if resuscitated, and refurbished would compete with hotels like Federal Palace, Protea and Sheraton in Ikeja, Gubabi Royal Suites, Horizon and Chelsea hotels in Abuja.

In fact, these hotels mentioned above aren't as gigantic as Ben Thomas, but being in highbrow areas in the city, enjoy impressive patronage.
