Braking News:
Today, around 12:32 PM East Africa Time, a Qatar Airways flight (Qatari 6U) originating from Doha and destined for Entebbe, flying at an altitude of 38,000 feet, was incorrectly instructed by Air Traffic Controllers in Mogadishu to ascend to 40,000 feet.
This flight found itself on a collision course with an Ethiopian Airlines aircraft (Ethiopia 602) that had departed from Addis Ababa en route to Dubai, cruising at 39,000 feet. The Qatari flight almost collided with the Ethiopian Airlines plane flying above it.
Fortunately, the aircraft's onboard Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) issued an immediate warning, indicating the presence of another aircraft in the instructed altitude. The system advised the Qatar flight not to climb to the 40,000 feet level.
The two aircraft were dangerously close, but the collision avoidance system installed on both planes averted a potential disaster.
Recordings of the two captains communicating about the incident reveal that they both received erroneous instruction from Air Traffic Controllers in Muqdisho and have pledged to submit a report to @icao and other relevant authorities.

🚨 **Breaking News: Ethiopian Military Launches Operation Against Fano Fighters**
Today, a major operation has been initiated by the Ethiopian military targeting Fano Fighters, resulting in the blockade of a crucial main road. The military command post officially announced the halt of transportation activities from Dessie to Shoa Robit to Debre Birhan, rendering the road from Dessie to Debre Birhan inaccessible.
The strategic operation, spanning from Dessie to Debre Birhan, aims to impede the movement of Fano Fighters, who have aspirations to reach Addis Ababa. The closure of this route indicates a proactive effort to prevent potential clashes between Fano Fighters and OLA (Oromo Liberation Army).
This ongoing operation follows the Ethiopian military's active engagement with Fano Fighters since May of last year. Despite persistent efforts, no Fano Fighters’ commanders have been reported killed or captured. In contrast, Fano Fighters have targeted and eliminated Prosperity Party leaders, government officials, and police officers.
In a recent development, Fano Fighters claimed the capture of a woman they allege to be a spy for the Ethiopian military, highlighting their perceived intelligence network strength.
The big questions linger: Can the Ethiopian military crush Fano Fighters in this operation? How long will it last, and will any Fano Fighters’ commanders be captured or eliminated? Stay tuned for updates. #Ethiopia #MilitaryOperation #FanoFighters
