📌 SAVE this for your next Facebook Ad campaign

While attention spans are definitely getting shorter, the truth is you're not going to get results from your Facebook Ads if your content is not engaging enough.

That might be controversial but people don't want to waste their time anymore.

So it's your job to create content that will engage your audience, hook them in 3 seconds AND then deliver value early on rather than waiting to the end 🥱

👉 Here's what I recommend when crafting Facebook Ads:

[1] Create content, whether in the video, image or ad copy, that will hook the audience in within 3 seconds.

[2] Deliver some value or action steps in the next 30 seconds to give them a reason to click-through or continue engaging with your content.

There's nothing worse than spending ages crafting out the perfect Facebook Ad just to get a big rejected message! It’s frustrating and can be time-consuming if you’re not sure where you went wrong.

That's why you should avoid being individual specific.

Although you can target specific audiences with your ad, you can’t suggest you are targeting that audience because of...

💸 financial status ..etc (the list goes on).

When planning your ad copy, make sure you try not to use the word YOUR or YOU too much or draws too much attention to one of these demographics.

For example, you could be promoting a nutrition program that helps people manage their weight, but you can’t create an ad that suggests the target user is overweight.

Here are a few AFFORDABLE ways to reach your target audience with Facebook Ads👇

Before we get started, you need to make sure you have the Facebook pixel added to your website. This way you'll be able to track all of the incredible results you generate.

On Facebook, the rule typically is that you'll have to spend more if you're asking the audience to spend more. For example, a lead generation campaign to a freebie should cost less than someone purchasing an item for £100. That's why there are a few campaign objectives that will provide you with a more affordable way of reaching your target audience.

🌟 Engagement

Rather than taking someone to your website, with an engagement campaign you optimise for people interacting with your content or watching a video.

🌟 Traffic

With this objective, you are optimising for either link clicks through to your website or landing page views. If I'm running a traffic campaign I like to optimise for landing page views as this is a more accurate number of the people who actually visit the website, rather than link clicks where they can fall off between clicking on the ad and reaching your website.

🌟 Leads

Depending on what you're asking your audience to do, lead generation can be very cost effective on Facebook. Some of my clients are currently getting leads for less than £1 on their lead generation campaigns.

How to set a Facebook Ad campaign for success 🤩

There's a few things you need, but a combination of the right objective, targeting the right audience and ads that speak to your audience is defintiely the best place to start.

🗣️ So how can you make sure that your ad copy is speaking to the right audience and attracting them enough to take action?

You have to identify who your audience are. You could even speak directly to them in your ad copy.

For example, you could say "this is for you if..." and then insert some emotional triggers that align with your target audience.

The thing is, not everyone in your target audience will be ready to take action just yet, and so by including an identifier like this you are calling out the to people who are ready to take action. This allows you to maximise your results and minimise your costs and create a more targeted audience. 🎯

Rather than just leaving your ad copy as the text you submit, Facebook have started selecting the AI generated copy 'by default' to test different options. You may have not chosen this option but the ad could still publish with the copy in it.

This is a well-intentioned feature and wouldn't be a problem if the AI copy was similar to the one you submit or if you don't have strict copy guidelines. But if this is not the case and your copy goes through approval processes, then this is definitely something to watch out for.

You’ve spent ages crafting out the perfect Facebook Ad and then BOOM - big rejected message! It’s frustrating and can be time-consuming if you’re not sure where you went wrong.

Here are some of the main reasons why ads get rejected and how to avoid it...

[1] Don’t be too specific to an individual
Although you can target specific types of audiences with your ad, try not suggest tha you are. For example, you could be promoting a nutrition program that helps people manage their weight, but you can’t create an ad that suggests the target user is overweight.

[2] No before and after shots
Don't show images of ‘ideal’ weight, also no unnecessary skin please!

[3] Check links and landing pages WORK
If your links are taking someone to a landing page or website that comes up with error messages or your downloads don’t actually download, this is classed as misleading information as it doesn’t follow through on what was promised in the ad.

[4] Don’t use Facebook assets
Be wary of using screenshot material of the Facebook experience or having the logo anywhere in the ad.

Let's start at the beginning. Content pillars are topics of your content, it's a way to categorise your content for themes that you want to be known for and that speak to your audience on different levels.

💡 Here's how we create content pillars for our clients:

[1] Research. We get to know the client’s industry, their target audience, who their competitors are, what type of content is already out there.

[2] Then we start looking at the what content the audience wants to see. What do they find useful and can we solve their problems with this content? This helps us start building out some content pillars.

[3] We have to also consider the objectives that our client wants to achieve. Can we create content that will help our client reach their goals? What content will help convert the audience?

[4] Now it's time to look at the services or products our client offers.

[5] Finally, it's time to piece everything today! We will now have 3-5 content pillars that will help us provide value to the audience and align with our client's objectives.

Growing your audience on Instagram can feel like hard work sometimes, but using old school strategies is not going to get you anywhere. In fact it could actually harm your account to use some of them.

'Follow for follow' was once a strategy adopted by many to grow Instagram accounts, you remember those days right?

Accounts would comment on your post saying 'follow for follow' and you'd both follow each other to try and grow your audience. But these days not only does it comes across as spammy, it will not build an authentically engaged community that will actually buy from you.

The truth is, not all marketing channels will be right for your business. There's no point pushing content or running ads on all platforms when that may not be where your audience spends their time.

👉 Instead, ask yourself these key questions to avoid wasting time (and money!).

[1] Where do my ideal clients spend their time?

Understanding demographic information such as age, gender, interests and income could help here. There is no point in creating content for LinkedIn if all your clients use Instagram.

[2] How do my ideal clients like to receive information?

Do they prefer visual or audio? Would a video grab their attention or an informative, educational piece? This information will determine how you create your marketing and be useful in deciding which platform to put it on.

[3] What is my marketing goal?

Define what your objectives are for this marketing. Certain platforms are better suited for certain types of marketing.

Although growing your audience can feel like hard work sometimes, it's important to be mindful of the hashtags you use on Instagram.

Hashtags on Instagram are a great tool to be seen, when used appropriately.

❌ Don't use random hashtags just because you think they'll increase your reach.

✔️ Instead use hashtags that are relevant to your niche and your followers and don't be afraid to create your own brand hashtag too.

We recommend using hashtags with 10k - 700k posts associated with them. This means that your hashtags will be relevant to your strategy without getting lost in a sea of other content.

Are you making this mistake which could be costing your business SERIOUS money? 💸

If you are struggling to grow your business or feel as though it's stagnated, this is for you👇

One of the biggest mistakes I see people making with their ad copy is that they don't speak about the value they offer their ideal clients.

If your ideal clients can't see the value in your offer, chances are you're leaving SO much money on the table. For your clients tp see value in what you are offering, you need to be talking about your service in a way that makes them feel that they need it.

💭 Here's what you should do...

[1] Talk about how your service benefits your ideal client

[2] Focus on the value proposition of your offer. What makes you different and how does this denefit your ideal client.

[3] Make things easy for your ideal client and give them a clear path for what to do next.

[4] Provide social proof. Show them what other people have felt about your service.

Always centre your ad copy around the audience and what they can get from you.
