Hey everybody!
My name is Kayla Caivano and I'm an MSW student at Monmouth University. I have been working on creating a podcast series for a project over the last 2 semesters for my Human Rights and Social Justice class. As a part of this year-long project, I have created a 3-part podcast series about Reproductive Justice which is the human right to maintain bodily autonomy, to have children, not have children and raise the children we do have in safe and sustainable environments.
For my podcast series, I created 3 episodes that focus on how reproductive justice is impacted by 1) gender 2) race and 3) incarceration. The goal of this podcast series is to provide education and create conversations about reproductive justice and the ways in which each of us are impacted due to our intersectional identities. In each episode, I interviewed a resource person in the community who has either been directly impacted or has specific knowledge and experience regarding one of the topic areas. Featuring Adam R., Cheyenne Tyler Jacobs and Dr. Sinead O'Malley
I have also created a short 5 question pre-test survey and 6 question post-test survey to help me assess perceived knowledge of each area, as well as likelihood of engaging in conversations about reproductive justice before and after listening to the podcast series!
I would be thrilled and very much appreciated any participation and engagement to assess if the podcast series helped provide education about reproductive justice, race, gender and incarceration.
