MY MESSAGE TO ZAMBIA. NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, FASTING, REPENTANCE AND RECONCILIATION- 18th October, 2024.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As a son of Issachar, my message to Zambia on this important day, the 18th of October 2024, is one of unity, humility, and reconciliation. Today, as a nation, we gather to observe a day of prayer, fasting, repentance, and reconciliation. This is a great day for mother Zambia, a day on which we
must come together from different walks of life—across the divide of tribes, across political affiliations, across our denominational umbrellas—and unite as one people before God,seeking His face in prayer.
I feel it is important to define what this day is about: the National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance, and Reconciliation. Because when the definition is wrong, the application becomes wrong. When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse becomes inevitable. We cannot assume that we have all gathered with a full understanding of what we are actually doing. So allow me, in simplicity, to define what prayer and fasting truly mean.
When we pray and fast, we are humbling ourselves before God. Prayer and fasting are acts of humbling ourselves before God, as it says in James 4:6, "God resists the proud but gives grace to the
humble."
When we refuse to pray as individuals or as a nation, it is pride before God. We are saying
we are enough, that we can solve everything in our own ability. But let me remind you, beloved, that humanity without divinity is incomplete. We need God's divine help as individuals, as leaders, as a government, and as a people. We need God’s intervention, and prayer is not a monologue; it is a dialogue. When we pray, we
