i used to think that i had to have my whole life figured out in order to be happy. i was convinced that i needed a plan for my career, a relationship, or even a house to feel successful and that those things would “earn my happiness”. i used to think that if my plans fell through…like if didn’t get the job or if we broke up, that i was failing. now, i know that none of which is true. and that mentality probably kept me chasing a few situations longer than i should have.

lately i’ve come to learn that maybe it’s good that it ended. i’m accepting that maybe it’s okay not to know what’s going to happen next. maybe it’s okay to mess up. aren’t we suppose to learn from our mistakes anyways? how can you truly learn and grow if you never mess up, admit your fault, change directions, and move onward?

and if every piece of your life is planned out down to the weather and the day then how will you ever have the chance to get caught in the rain? how will you ever learn how to submit to the uncontrollable forces in this world and still find happiness; learning to dance in the rain rather than hiding from it.

maybe it’s okay to feel a little lost right now. in fact i encourage you to run steadfast into the unknown. maybe this is your time to ~not have to not all figured out. maybe you’re learning to just go with the flow and still be content with it all anyway. maybe that’s the whole point. ✨
