You’ll bring your superior command of the English language, your creative spark, and your mastery of deadlines and schedules to write and edit marketing content for some of the largest technology companies in the world. You’ll focus on quality control for web pages, emails, case studies, e-books, articles, white papers, thought leadership, and more, created by our in-house and freelance writers.
Reporting to the editorial operations manager, you will hone our high-quality standards, support our writers and editors, and deliver the top-quality content our clients expect. You’ll need a deep understanding of the fundamentals of storytelling and the ability to grasp technical concepts quickly and communicate them to others. This is a full-time, fully remote position.
Who you are:
You’re a highly-skilled, experienced copywriter and editor with technical writing experience.
You can write about high-tech topics with style, personality, and a sixth sense for what influences the buyer’s journey.
You love fact-checking and are a fast, thorough, accurate researcher.
You enjoy creating and editing a variety of marketing assets for multiple clients, delivering projects on time and at high quality.
You love style guides and understand the need to implement them to deliver our clients’ brand, tone and voice.
You know headlines and editorial hooks — and can insert storytelling expertise to make content stand out.
You manage your time and balance individual and team responsibilities to deliver great content.
What you’ll do:
Write and edit copy on deadline using your sharp wit, superb research skills, and sophisticated yet highly accessible writing style.
Assess content to ensure it combines storytelling and technology expertise and meets our quality standards.
Coach the team toward consistent delivery of high-quality content that addresses clients’ needs.
Ensure that fresh, original storytelling is a part of every asset.
Become an expert in each client’s style and branding guidelines and ensure consistent application of those guidelines to every asset.
Communicate with freelance and in-house writers and editors in a confident, respectful, and supportive manner — knowing their success is your success.
Demonstrate continual efforts to improve quality and consistency.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience writing and editing marketing content, preferably for global technology enterprises. Agency experience is a plus.
1+ years of experience managing writers or similar creative professionals.
Professional and diplomatic manner and superb people skills, including the ability to build rapport and effective working relationships.
Strong communication skills; you consistently provide error-free written and verbal communications across different content topics and formats, including social media and video scripts.
Ability to work independently and be self-directed while collaborating with a fully distributed team.
Unending curiosity and desire to expand your knowledge base.
Desire to work in a dynamic growth environment with a high degree of autonomy.
Close familiarity with AP Stylebook, Chicago Manual of Style, and other style guides, as well as with branding and marketing guidelines.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including proficiency in Word, and a working knowledge of Adobe products.
Familiarity with content-management and project-management systems.
