I was just searching and reading the current Military juntas after the coup in West African country the Burkina Faso and I accidentally found that among the 16 countries in West Africa we still have one country under the British colonial powers and it seems like they governs indirect rule but under UK Government minister, despite been the oldest state territory of 1577-1651 the Saint Helena.

It's country name was "Saint Helena and later in 2009 extended to three regional powers with equal status Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha" in their recent population census 2016 Saint Helena was estimated about 5,633 thousands people living in Island as indicated in their summary report.
My surprise is that, in the 21st century and in a democratic world a country in Africa is still under the colony of another country, Western countries that are advocating for democracy and free social system. In think this bloody oppression and patriarchal inequality of the west most stop and allow free men to govern themselves and end slavery for free democracy.
In conjunction with the recent military intervention in Burkina Faso's politics allegedly sponsored by France to achieve their political aims in bloodshed of civilian isn't realistic. In Africa I really believe if we continue to elect unpariotic leaders who follow the galloping paths of the West we will definitely continue to die in slavery with our grandchildren.

"According to Psychologists, there are four types of Intelligence:

1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
2) Emotional Quotient (EQ)
3) Social Quotient (SQ)
4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)

1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ): this is the measure of your level of comprehension. You need IQ to solve maths, memorize things, and recall lessons.

2. Emotional Quotient (EQ): this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others, keep to time, be responsible, be honest, respect boundaries, be humble, genuine and considerate.

3. Social Quotient (SQ): this is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go further in life than those with a high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize on improving IQ levels while EQ and SQ are played down.

A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your Character, while your SQ represents your Charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs, especially your EQ and SQ.

Now there is a 4th one, a new paradigm:

4. The Adversity Quotient (AQ): The measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life, and come out of it without losing your mind.

When faced with troubles, AQ determines who will give up, who will abandon their family, and who will consider su***de.

Parents please expose your children to other areas of life than just Academics. They should adore manual labour (never use work as a form of punishment), Sports and Arts.

Develop their IQ, as well as their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of their parents.

Finally, do not prepare the road for your children. Prepare your children for the road."

Have foresight you refused. Acquire knowledge, wisdom and experience you refused. You said that you are genius who knows everything. We said Covid19 is not as serious in Nigeria as to warrant total lock down of everything and everywhere for six months in a country where majority cannot eat unless they go out daily. You even locked down religious centres and as Muslims you asked people to be using alcoholic dominated sanitizer to rub hand after ablution. And to maintain social distance in congregational prayers. You started disagreeing and attacking us and calling us all sort of names. You even threatened us that we are against government directives and should be arrested. Yet you say we are in democracy with you having right to express yourself but we without right to express ourselves. Now that Lagos State, the epicentre of Covid19 is to reopen all schools you need to apologise to us if you are sincere. But since you are a perpetual insincere fellow you will never apologize. So we pray that God forgive you because you don't know what you are doing. You are only acting without knowledge and wisdom and experience. You are only acting based on your wrong perception of freedom of speech and ability to read and write and speak in English. Whatever you read on WhatsApp and Facebook you took it as the truth and nothing but the truth and use it to harass us. In short, God didn't bless you with critical thinking but full of yourself with empty head. Unfortunately, if it happens tomorrow you will take the same wrong position because you are arrogant and not ready to learn from the past. It's only God that can help this country to be better than this. With characters like you it will be difficult if not impossible for Nigeria to be better than this.

PRESIDENT BUHARI ASSURES ALL POSSIBLE HELP TO THE NORTHEAST ON SECURITY

President Muhammadu Buhari Monday gave strong assurances that security will be restored to Borno State, the Northeast and the nation at large, following the recent adoption of new strategies, and the acquisition of modern military equipment.

Speaking at the State House in Abuja during a meeting with the five Northeast State Governors, attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police and the heads of intelligence agencies, President Buhari said:

“Things will improve very soon. We are acquiring modern equipment; some are here, some are being cleared, and others still coming. We need patience with acquisition of equipment. You need to train the trainers for their usage ahead of their deployment to the field.”

“I have listened to your presentation,” he told the Governors, who spoke through their Chairman and Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum, adding, “I assure you, the Northeast Governors, especially that of Borno, that we go to bed and wake up thinking about you, how to secure our country, that is the responsibility of every government. Our party campaigned in 2015 on three major objectives, among which is Security. We said the same thing in 2019 and Nigerians believed us. We are doing our best and we will continue to do even better.”

The President lamented the impact on the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, making scarce resources even scarcer, coupled with its severe impact on the supply chain of military equipment and spare parts.
“Our government is doing its best on the question of equipment and the military know. We have equipment coming from some countries.

The acquisition of military wares and spares is not easy, especially if you are not the manufacturer,” he emphasized.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, the Chief of Staff, the National Security Adviser and all the Service Chiefs who spoke in support of the President, assured that things will get better soon. They made a strong case for strengthening ties among the military, state governments, traditional institutions and all communities and the residents of the region.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai gave an assessment of the current efforts, stressing that Boko Haram terrorists have been flushed out of all the States in the region, leaving Borno State as the last stop.
According to him, “There are no Boko Haram terrorists in neighbouring states. They have been pushed out, and now cornered in Borno State. We are coordinating with civil and traditional authorities, mobilising and reinforcing and all we need is patience. We will not relent.”

On his part, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, briefed the meeting on the acquisition of military aircraft, stressing that the imminent arrival of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, UAVs, known as drones with more than 10 hours of flying time, would strongly reinforce the battle front.

Briefs were also received on equipment needs of the Police as well as the changing alliances between criminal gangs and terrorist groups in the region from the Intelligence Community.
In their address at the beginning of the meeting, the Northeast Governors noted that the security situation in the region has now greatly improved, compared to the time the President assumed office.

While commending President Buhari for the establishment of the Northeast Development Commission and the take-off of Mambila Dam Power Project, they however, called for attention to the condition of most of their roads.

They also warned of the consequences of a “War Economy” and the need to address the root causes of the insurgency.

According to the Governors, “A large population in the region, especially in Borno State, have no access to their homes and farmlands,” while calling for efforts to curtail the “increasing trust deficit between the population and the armed forces.”

YOUR EXCELLENCY, IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO RETHINK THE FLYOVER PROJECT
I'm not a member of the ruling PDP administration in Adamawa state and admittedly I didn't work for it's emergence. But I'm a citizen who believe that after elections, all stakeholders must put aside political considerations to support whoever the Almighty Allah decides to bring forth as our Governor. I am therefore writing as an indigene who means well for the current Governor and prays that Allah will use him to develop our state.
His Excellency has just flagged off some road and infrastructural projects across the state. I hope God will empower him with the financial wherewithal and political will to implement them. And I commend him for laying out such projects.
I however sincerely and passionately plead with the Governor to rethink on the Yola Police Barracks Flyover project. This is one project, though aesthetically good, that is not a priority. The funds allocated for the flyover project could be utilised for other more priority ones in the state capital crying out for urgent attention, particularly channelization of stormwater and floodwater in the perennial flooding areas of Demsawo, Jambutu and Dow-Beli in Jimeta (Yola North) and similar environmental situations in Shagari Low Cost/Modire/Yolde Pate axis (Yola South). It could be even possible to consider, as an alternative to the flyover project a Second Jimeta-Yola road starting from Dow-Girei (around Gen. Maria's house) through the swamps of River Chouchi, into Fattude Sanda/Magaji/Damare/Wuro Hausa areas of Yola town. The argument of high traffic at the police roundabout is valid at times but not critical; indeed there're more areas with traffic gridlock in the state capital (Muh Mustapha Way, Nasarawo, Yola-Jimeta road, Gimba road junction, Dow-Beli, etc) than the police roundabout. It should be easy to reduce traffic congestion at the proposed flyover site by simply redesigning and slightly expanding the Galadima Aminu Way and the Police Roundabout, without a flyover.
I know that the anticipated glory of building "the first flyover in th North-East" is tempting for any Chief Executive, but my point is that it better to embark on projects that truly serve the people than seeking vain glories. Another argument is that we want to beautify the capital through the flyover; true, but again we could redesign the roundabout(s) to make them more modern and beautiful without a flyover at a more modest cost.
In conclusion, I support and commend the Governor for ALL the projects flagged off EXCEPT the flyover - not that it is particularly bad, but because we have bigger, more urgent, life-saving projects that are begging for attention at the moment in the state capital. I sincerely hope this humble advice is taken in good faith without political meanings being read to it. Because it is written in good faith.

PRESIDENT BUHARI ON IZE-IYAMU: TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, PDP MUST SACK ITS GOVERNORS AND SENATORS

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which has been struggling to clear its name from alleged deals with the underworld in Dubai and the United States has, to our surprise, found the voice to attack the anti-corruption war of the Muhammadu Buhari administration following the President’s endorsement of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the All Progressives Congress, APC’s dashing candidate for the governorship election in Edo State.

Forgetting its own history and antecedents, the PDP said in a garrulous statement that “the President ought to have been aware that the Candidate is standing trial for corruption,” and then went on rant against the government’s war against corruption, alleging its failure.

Let PDP first withdraw the governorship nominations it gave to Ahmadu Fintiri and Bala Mohammed of Adamawa and Bauchi States respectively, before it opens its mouth and talk on the efforts of this administration in fighting corruption. Or else, it should shut its mouth forever and leave us to do what it dares not attempt.

Both PDP governors were actually on bail from criminal trial on several counts of fraud and embezzlement.

Justice A. R. Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, July 1, 2016 granted bail to the former acting governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. He was charged on June 30, 2016 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, alongside his company, Mayim Construction and Properties Limited on a five-count charge of money laundering to the tune of N2.9 billion.

In the case of Bala Mohammed, the PDP Governor of Bauchi State, the EFCC, on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, arraigned the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, before Justice A. M. Talba of the Federal Capital Territory, High Court sitting in Gudu, Abuja, on a six-count charge bordering on abuse of office, false declaration of assets and fraud to the tune of N864 million.

“Bala, while in office as minister, allegedly received N550 million as bribe from A*o Savings and Loans Limited with respect to some properties in the A*okoro area of Abuja.

“He is said to have corruptly abused his position as Board Chairman of A*o Savings by allocating four numbers fully detached duplexes and 11 numbers semi-detached duplexes valued at N314 million through the Presidential Taskforce on Sale of Government Houses, to himself.

“The former minister is also accused of making false declaration of his assets.”
Pastor Ize-Iyamu is being prosecuted by the EFCC alongside Lucky Imasuen, former deputy governor of Edo State, Chief Dan Orbih, PDP Chairman in Edo State and other leaders of the party in the state, Tony Aziegbemi and Efe Erimuoghae.

Under the country‘s laws, only the courts can convict. A suspect remains a suspect until conviction. But, if in the view of the PDP, a suspect is guilty as charged, then they must show examples by withdrawing the nomination of their governors and the party’s numerous Senators and other legislators standing trial in various courts of the country.

A party which 16 years in office destroyed the country’s economy and infrastructure has no moral authority to criticize the accelerated infrastructure development drive, largely drawing its energy from the Buhari anti-corruption campaign.

A government that sees corruption in the past administration and sees corruption in its own administration, and fights it with equal gusto, cannot be placed on the same scale with those who, by their words and deeds said corruption is a way of life and Nigerians should learn to live with it.

This clean-up drive by the President Buhari administration will only speed up with the ongoing investigations and trials.

The current administration’s cleansing exercise of the government, politics and economy in line with the zero tolerance for corruption, will not be distracted.

Gov Fintiri deductions of July salaries of Adamawa workers unwarranted-NLC laments
Adamawa State’s worker under the umbrella of organised Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) after a marathon meeting on Friday released a bulletin lamented the “unfortunate, and unwarranted” deductions on July 2020 salaries by the administration of Rt Hon Ahmadu Fintiri
The bulletin revealed the outcry I
You he civil servants who received the deductions in salaries of the month of July with a deep shock and monumental bewilderment without due consideration of the COVID-19 scourges on them.
The organized Labour called on the State government to direct the Accountant General’s Office to reverse the deduction made on workers salaries as done in the month of May, June 2020 with Minimum of delay.
They further asked Governor Fintiri to fully implement the national minimum on Local Government workers as they are part of the negotiations process and the signed agreement.

Adamawa workers also demanded that the double taxation meted on them on the June Salary be reversed.

While waiting on Government to act accordingly, they called on civil servants to remain calm and peaceful.

You may recall that the July salaries attracted much complains on Thursday as many workers noticed serious deductions on the month the said the government received high Federal account allocation.

Comrade Nasiru Babale, Chairman,

Trade Union Congress of Nigeria said not only did the government paid them with huge deductions but it reversed back the minimum wage promised and paid them with the 2019 salaries structure.
