PFA violation

MOUNT CARMEL — Vikki Boris, 42, of 1071 Scott St., Kulpmont, was charged by Patrolman Kelly Campbell for violating a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order at the Mount Carmel Area Silver Bowl on Oct. 23.

According to court documents, Boris yelled at varsity football coach John Darrah, demanded to know where her child was and flipped Darrah off. Campbell ordered Boris to leave several times throughout the incident.

According to police, the PFA protects Boris’ son from any type of abuse.

Boris was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge William Cole on Wednesday and posted $5,000 unsecured bail.

Drug charges

MOUNT CARMEL — Emmanuel Rodriguez Linares, 42, of 32 S. Hickory St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Evan Freiler with possessing a controlled or counterfeit substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a probation check was conducted at his home on Jan. 18.

Rodriguez Linares was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge William Cole on Jan. 19 and remanded to Northumberland County Jail in lieu of $20,000 straight cash bail.

Fi****ms charge

MOUNT CARMEL — Patrolman Tyler Herbster charged John William Hoffman II, 44, of 135 E. Ave., Mount Carmel, with persons not to possess, use, manufacture, control, sell or transfer fi****ms after a probation check was conducted at his home on Jan. 12.

Probation Officer Sarah Snyder found a tactical rifle, a pistol and a revolver in the residence.

Hoffman was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge William Cole on Tuesday and admitted to Northumberland County Jail in lieu of $10,000 straight cash bail.

Disorderly conduct

KULPMONT — Officer Francis Petrovich charged Damian Slovick, 36, of 135 W. Saylor St., Mount Carmel, with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass for attempting to make entry into a residence at 1247 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, on Jan. 10. Slovick told police he was trying to pick up a friend but he did not know the address.

Driving while operating privilege suspended

KULPMONT — Anthony Kulb, 37, of 1137 Scott St., Kulpmont, was charged by Officer Francis Petrovich with driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked and traffic-control signals relating to a Jan. 10 traffic stop.

Kulb turned at a ‘no turn on red’ traffic light and did not have a driver’s license at the time of the traffic stop.

Public nuisances

MOUNT CARMEL — Stacey Webb, 48, of 24 E. Third St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman David Bucher with public nuisance and disorderly conduct.

Webb was issued 27 separate citations concerning landlord registration and quality of life violations throughout 2023 for a property at 107 N. Market St., Mount Carmel, under her care. Webb also has $786.72 delinquent property taxes.

Public nuisances

MOUNT CARMEL — Joseph Pearson, 79, of 217 E. Ave., Mount Carmel, was charged by Mount Carmel Township Chief of Police Brian Hollenbush with public nuisances for numerous property violations for a vacant dwelling he owns at 421 N. Maple St., Mount Carmel Township. Pearson was cited in June and pleaded guilty, but failed to comply with the abatement.

MOUNT CARMEL — Patrolman David Bucher charged James Rosetta, 36, of Shamokin, with possessing a controlled or counterfeit substance, possessing a small amount of ma*****na and possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a Jan. 11 traffic stop.

RIVERSIDE — Patrolman Andrew Rupp charged Dawn Strickland, 62, of 138 Mechanic St., Muncy, with two counts of illegally operating a motor vehicle not equipped with ignition interlock, operating a vehicle with an expired inspection, failing to produce an insurance card when requested by police, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and driving without insurance coverage relating to a traffic stop on Jan. 18.

MOUNT CARMEL — Patrolman James Hornberger, Jr. charged Michael Guise, 63, of 233 Ringtown Mountain Road, Catawissa, with two counts of driving under the influence and required position and method of turning following a Dec. 8 traffic stop.

Bad checks
RALPHO TOWNSHIP — Robert Zavatski, 83, of 44 Donaldson Road, Tremont, was charged by Patrolman Stephen Spade with bad checks and receiving stolen property for writing a check in the amount of $1,021.81 to Miller Gas and Oil on Dec. 22. The check was returned to the business due to insufficient funds and not paid on top of service fees.

M0UNT CARMEL — Timothy Lee Burkholder, 36, of 110 S. Diamond St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Evan Freiler with possessing a misbranded controlled substance, possessing oxycodone and possessing drug paraphernalia relating to a Dec. 21 incident at the Avenue and Poplar Street.

MOUNT CARMEL — Amanda Lynn Kline, 36, of 17 S. Walnut St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman James Hornberger Jr. with possessing a misbranded controlled substance, possessing benzodiazepine and alprazolam and possessing drug paraphernalia involving a Dec. 21 incident at Fourth and Peach streets.

MOUNT CARMEL — Patrolman David Bucher charged Nicholas C. Elliott, 30, of 105 N. Vine St., Shamokin, with possessing methamphetamine and possessing drug paraphernalia in connection with a Dec. 23 incident at Sixth and Apple streets.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL — Heather Lynn Rorabaugh, 41, of 219 E. Sixth St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman David Bucher with driving under the influence of alcohol, possessing fetanyl, possessing drug paraphernalia, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

The charges relate to a Dec. 14 bicycle accident at Fifth and Hickory streets in which Rorabaugh suffered injuries and underwent emergency room treatment at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital. Police said Rorabaugh had a 0.091% blood alcohol content during a portable breath test and also tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, suboxone and ma*****na in a urine test.

Multiple charges

EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP — Matthew John Snyder, 30, of Upper Road, was charged by Trooper Aaron Brown, of state police at Stonington, with defiant trespass, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and two counts of violating a protection from abuse order relating to a disturbance shortly after 5 p.m. Monday at 6847 Upper Road in East Cameron Township.

Snyder was arraigned Tuesday on two criminal complaints by Magisterial District Judge William Cole and committed to Northumberland County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail on all charges.

Simple assault

RIVERSIDE — Patrick O. Ball, 31, of 318 E. Eighth St., Apt. 101, Riverside, and Cassandra Padula, 26, of 316 E. Eighth St., Riverside, were charged by Patrolman Bradley Harvey with simple assault and harassment relating to a disturbance at Ball’s apartment at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday.

Ball also was charged with strangulation.

Police reported Ball is accused of grabbing Padula by the throat, which impeded her breathing, while Padula allegedly threw a glass plate at Ball, causing it to break and cut him on his left heel.

Ball and Padula were arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Rachel Wiest-Benner on Sunday and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

MOUNT CARMEL — Wayne P. Mulzet, 59, of Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman David Bucher with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct relating to an incident at 1:02 a.m. Dec. 24 at Mount Carmel Police Station.

Theft from building

SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP — The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the theft of a Yamaha Generator and a Paslode nail gun from an undisclosed location on Route 890, Shamokin Township, between Dec. 2 and Dec. 13. Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to call 570-286-5601.

Sentencing

SUNBURY — Nicholas Richart, 25, of Milton, was sentenced Dec. 22 by Northumberland County President Judge Paige Rosini to three years probation with restrictive conditions including three months on house arrest for driving under the influence.

Richart also was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and had his driver’s license suspended for 18 months

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP — Angela Carta, 40, of 318 E. Center St., Mount Carmel, was issued a summary citation of retail theft by Patrolman Nathan Foust. Carta allegedly left the Coal Township Walmart with $124.31 of unpaid merchandise in her cart after a transaction was declined due to a payment issue, a press release states.

Multiple charges

MOUNT CARMEL — Chad Keefer, 40, who is believed to be homeless, was charged by Patrolman James Hornberger, Jr. with flight to avoid apprehension, false reports to law enforcement authorities, false identification to law enforcement authorities, possessing a controlled substance, use or possession of drug paraphernalia and lamps and other equipment on pedal cycles following a Dec. 5 traffic stop.

Keefer did not have proper lamps and reflectors on a pedal cycle he was riding in the area of Oak and Third streets around 2 a.m. on Dec. 5. Keefer had a blue glassine bag of fentanyl and needles inside his hoodie pocket and backpack.

During the incident, Keefer identified himself as Dustin Jacob Keiser. On a separate incident on Dec. 13, Keefer admitted to police that he provided a different name because he had warrants out for his arrest.

Keefer was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge William Cole on Dec. 21 and released on $10,000 unsecured cash bail.

Guilty plea

MOUNT CARMEL — Carter Moore, 20, of 230 W. Cameron St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty on Dec. 20 to a charge of possessing a small amount of ma*****na. Magisterial District Judge William Cole ordered him to serve one month probation and pay a $300 fine plus costs.

Charges of possessing a counterfeit substance, attempting to purchase, consume or possess any liquor and restriction on alcoholic beverages were withdrawn.

Endangering the welfare of children

MOUNT CARMEL — Obasi Davis, 44, of 314 S. Beech St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Brandon Butler with endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment for allegedly striking and threatening the autistic children of his neighbor, Jones Martinez.

Simple assault

SHAMOKIN — Brian Shaffer, 36, whose last known address is 21 E. Church St., Apt. 1, Shamokin, was charged by Cpl. Tyler Bischof with simple assault and harassment involving a July 18 disturbance at his apartment.

Police reported Shaffer is accused of assaulting Tasha Kearney.

He was arraigned Thursday by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and released on $5,000 unsecured bail. Gembic ordered Shaffer to have no contact with Kearney. Shaffer remains incarcerated on a parole violation.

Burglary

SHAMOKIN — Cpl. Tyler Bischof charged Bobby Colon, 46, of 135 E. Church St., Shamokin, with burglary, theft by unlawful taking, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass involving a Nov. 26 incident at 676 Bear Valley Ave.

Police reported Colon entered the property illegally and stole frozen food items from the refrigerator.

Colon was arraigned Thursday by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and released on $5,000 unsecured bail, but is still incarcerated on a probation violation.

Strangulation

SUNBURY — Bryan Lee Harper Jr., 34, of Lykens, was arraigned at 10 a.m. Thursday by on-call Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin, on charges of strangulation, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and disorderly conduct.

The charges were filed by Trooper Michael Adams, of state police at Stonington.

Police reported Harper is accused of slapping his 4-year-old daughter across the face and placing both hands around her neck and squeezing, causing the child to suffer pain and impeding her ability to breathe in May 2019, at a home on George Street in Lower Mahanoy Township.

Gembic committed Harper to Northumberland County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, which he posted Thursday afternoon.

Criminal trespass

MOUNT CARMEL — Cpl. Justin Stelma charged Heather Ann Bohn, 37, of 18 S. Hickory St., Mount Carmel, with criminal trespass and theft of services.

According to a criminal complaint, Bohn is accused of running an extension cord from her residence into a wall outlet at 20 S. Hickory St. owned by Nathan Welliver on Nov. 1.

Bohn was arraigned Wednesday by Magisterial District Judge William Cole and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

Terroristic threats

RIVERSIDE — Daren E. Clinkscale, of 213 Sunbury Road, Danville, was charged by Patrolman Bradley Harvey with terroristic threats and harassment relating to a disturbance Saturday afternoon at his residence in which he’s accused of yelling at his wife, Tiffany Britton, and threatening to kill her.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL — William J. Velez-Molina, 25, of 12 N. Cherry St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman James Hornberger Jr. with terroristic threats, simple assault, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, public drunkenness, harassment, failing to obey traffic-control devices, careless driving, reckless driving and driving at an unsafe speed involving a disturbance early Saturday morning at Turkey Hill Minit Market, 130 E. Fifth St.

Velez-Molina is accused of repeatedly opening his car door and striking the front passenger door of Peyton Galitski’s vehicle shortly before 3 a.m. When confronted by Tyler Williams about hitting Galitski’s vehicle, Velez-Molina exited his car and punched Williams five or six times in the face and threw him to the ground, police said. During the fight, Velez-Molina claimed that he had a pistol and threatened Williams with it, police said.

Police said neither Williams nor Galitski saw a firearm during the incident.

Williams and Galitski reported Velez-Molina then got back in his car and drove away.

Patrolman David Bucher said he later located a loaded 9mm handgun in the center console of the vehicle driven by Velez-Molina.

On-call Magisterial District Judge Rachel Wiest-Benner, of Sunbury, arraigned Velez-Molina on Saturday and committed him to Northumberland County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
