Straight out of Architectural Digest 👀

I had the pleasure of staying at ’s newest scene: Camper & Cabin Forest!

They are going to offer 3 cabins (Fir, Oak, and Pine) to the public soon. I’m sure everyone’s excited to enjoy and immerse themselves in nature with their stylish cabins.

I stayed at Pine. This cabin features an alcove bed, glass roof, outdoor tub, smart TV, Starlink, and a Tempur sleep set!

The best part was getting to see rain from the glass roof, while staying in bed, watching my favorite series and movies. If you’re a night person, it can get really bright in the morning, so I suggest bringing an eye mask. 👍🏼

The cherry on top was the food! They have an in-house restaurant, , which offers Vietnamese cuisine. The pho, prawn spring rolls, and the banh da lon (steamed cake) were great! I suggest you give these a try when you visit.

Special thank you to their team for the best service!

Cafe Breton has always been one of the places I look for whenever I am in dire need of comfort food 🥰

My go to’s whenever ordering is an egg casserole, a savory 7-cheese crêpe, hungarian sausage with caramelized onions, and their La Pinay for last!

Quick story time — their La Pinay introduced me to dessert crêpes! I didn’t even know what a crêpe was before when I was a kid. I would always drag my family to have dessert at their original Greenbelt branch.

All of their branches are super cozy and perfect for introverts like me who would like to read a book or watch their series in peace 😆

Tonight’s dinner at GRACE PARK.

Highly recommended for a night out to have endless conversations with company alongside delicious Filipino-inspired Italian food.

It is one of Margarita Forés’ restaurants which offers a farm-to-table experience.

Please try their spaghetti uni carbonara or baby crab fat and end your dinner with a side of mascarpone gelato. 🍨

A beautiful night to try Alegria Manila!

This Filipino and Latin American fusion recently relocated and opened their doors last October at the ground floor of Uptown Parade.

I have been here twice. They are known for their tasting menu, so on my second visit, I finally tried their 7-course with cocktail pairing. I loved how each dish is an elevated Filipino dish experience! Not only with the presentation, but, also the taste. I personally liked the Squid-silog and Ilocos Empanada Birria.

A bit on the expensive side, but hey, chefs are artists who put their talent with the food they make! You can celebrate your next birthday, date, or meeting here. 🍴

Alexa Approved Staycation - Casa Marina!

This bed and breakfast is located in the town of Pagsanjan, Laguna.

The property is a well-appointed vintage home with its own modern touches. An eight-bedroom house with an unbeatable view of the river.

They also have an in-house restaurant which serves Filipino comfort food!

I immediately fell in-love with the place because of its aesthetic. It feels like your own vacation home.

You can either grab a book and read all day long or choose a vinyl to play music at the living room.

If you want to explore the town, they are close to different tourist spots like waterfall sites, and they’d be glad to assist you on any information you might need.

Make sure to check out www.casamarinabnb.com for availability and rates.

Figuring out where to stay in Baguio?

I’ve got you covered! Say hello to your next staycation — Cabin Dreams (Cabin Dreams).

This a-frame modern cabin is located at Tuding Rd, Itogon. It is a 5-minute from the Mansion and Wright Park.

You have the cabin all to yourselves! Whether if it’s with family or friends.

The place is a 4-bedroom haven with the coziest living room and dining area you can dream of.

I felt I was back in San Francisco because of the interior design!

Did I also mention the place is pet-friendly? It is one of the factors why I immediately booked the trip! My fur-baby enjoyed roaming around like it was his own home.

I loved how the owners (Jay and Rachel) put a lot of effort in making our stay comfortable all throughout. They offered free local coffee upon arrival, and kept constant communication with me!

They have a caretaker on standby to assist you with any concerns you might have. We requested extra blankets and it was given to us right away.

There are things that you should take note of!

The cabin is made out of wood, which means you can hear everything in the place, like footsteps or doors opening / closing.

Also, you will be needing a car to travel comfortably in and out of the cabin since it’s located inside a subdivision. No public transportation nearby based on my observation.

If you want to see what the bedrooms look like, you can head over to my story highlights and check out the tour.

You can book through the AirBnb app or just click (https://abnb.me/KxMzcXDq7rb) to see the next available dates!

Alexa Approved Snack Shop - Kani Allie (Kani Allie)!

I have finally found the best tasting baked sushi in Metro Manila!

Kani Allie is a local business dedicated to serve baked sushi trays since 2020.

The owner, Donna, who is also the chef was inspired to share her recipe because of her children.

The brand is named after her daughter (Allie) and the flavor variants are named after her son (Ninja). She uses Kani for their main ingredient, thus, Kani Allie was created.

I found about Kani Allie in a Tatler Asia article titled “Where To Buy: 13 Places That Offer Unique Sushi Bake Flavours in Metro Manila, Philippines”!

I hope this post can also encourage you to order and try out their menu.

I have ordered multiple times, specifically the OG Ninja (freshly flame torched salmon).

I was never disappointed with every order. It is like the first time with every bite.

I know a tray is good for 3 to 4 persons but I can finish it by myself in one sitting!

I have tried numerous baked sushi trays from different establishments but none has come close with Kani Allie.

You can place an order by simply texting at +63 917 842 1178 or visit their instagram account () to send a direct message!

Alexa Approved Staycation - Cala Laiya ()!

Cala Laiya is a beach resort with a full front view of Tayabas Bay located in San Juan, Batangas. It is only a 2 hour and 30 minute drive from Metro Manila!

My family and I were greeted with a warm welcome in their lobby. We were served with welcome drinks followed by a tour of the property.

The staff accompanied us to our casita afterwards.

We booked the Three Bedroom Premiere and it had the right amount of space for our group. The casita, as what they call it, has its own veranda with an overlooking view of the beach.

This is the largest type of casita they have. You can check out their website to see other accommodation types they have for a smaller group size like their Garden Casita or Two-Bedroom Casita!

The best part of our stay is pets are allowed! You can have them roam around without a leash or take them for a swim in the sea!

It is also my first time to see a dog menu in a staycation. They will also provide a bed and bowl for your pet.

The property is light and open. You will not feel crowded with the amount of space they have allotted for each casita which is important for your privacy.

One of the factors that made me fall in-love with our stay was the food! All the dishes we ordered were excellent in taste. You have the option to eat in your casita, the restaurant, or by the beach.

Their menu is not confined to Filipino cuisine. They also have international choices.

You will not get bored from the numerous activities offered. They can take you on banana boat or speed boat rides for a fee. You can also kayak or play badminton for free.

There are things to take note of though!

The beach is as not as white and the sea water is a bit muddy. You can not also hit the beach and take a swim during the afternoon because the sea is at its lowest level.

These are minor issues that I had and may not bother you.

Regardless, my family and I had an unforgettable stay. Head over to their website to book (www.calalaiya.com).

Alexa Disapproved Restaurant - Finestra Italian Steakhouse.

Finestra Italian Steakhouse is one of the in-house restaurants of Solaire Resort and Casino. Their menu consists a variety of italian classics like pastas, salads, and steaks.

I was excited to dine again because I had unforgettable experiences the numerous times I dined with my friends and family from a time period of 2018 to 2019.

I could not say the same from my latest visit. It was a disappointment.

We ordered the Yellow Fin Tuna Niçoise salad, Agnolotti Tartufo Carbonara, and a Prime Rib Eye steak.

The salad was underwhelming. Salads are supposed to be refreshing. The components did not fit well together and it was bland.

The pasta was subpar. The noodles were kind of hard which made it tough to chew and the filling was too strong which made the whole dish too overwhelming.

The steak was awful. It did not give justice to its price. Some parts of the steak were rare when we instructed it to be medium. It was also tough to chew and tasted gamey. I tried to eat it but I could not continue.

We told our server about the experience and the manager offered us coffee or tea before heading out. He also told us the restaurant changed their supplier of meat which may have compromised the quality of their dishes.

There were parts of our dinner that made it bearable like its cocktails, service, and surroundings.

I had a cocktail called Bees Knees and it tasted superb.

The restaurant still boasts a relaxing ambience from its chandeliers, high ceiling, and a spacious dining area.

None of that would be enough for me to willingly go back. I would go back to have cocktails by the bar but not for lunch or dinner.

Alexa Approved Staycation - Solitude Acacia Resort (Solitude Acacia Resort)!

If you haven’t been to Anilao, Batangas then you are missing out! The area is known for its marine biodiversity which makes it the best place for diving and snorkeling.

I can not express how beautiful the shoreline is! It may not have a beach but you can go on an hopping tour and visit white sand islands nearby.

Solitude Acacia Resort is a modern resort which is known for their dive center and scenic ocean front view.

It is simple yet luxurious in its own. They offer four room categories, but I do recommend staying in their sea view deluxe, to bask in the beauty of the ocean. The rooms are spacious and uncomplicated.

Breakfast is included in the rate of your stay. They have an in-house restaurant which can cater to your dining needs. I do not have a picture of their menu but they do serve a range of meals from local to international dishes.

Some were a hit and miss for me. The spaghetti was too salty, however, their tacos were one of the best I have ever had!

The resort also has a bar which gives you a view of the sunset while drinking your favorite cocktail.

There are numerous of activities to do for you, family, friends, or your children! You can learn the basics of diving, hiking, island hopping, or snorkeling!

The hotel staff will help you to achieve your ideal vacation getaway. Head on over to their website (solitude-acacia.com) to secure your stay!

Alexa Approved Restaurant - Block 8 Grill and Sizzling House!

I recently found out about this place because of my friends. The restaurant is located on a hill alongside numerous restaurants catering to different cuisines which is similar to Tagaytay’s setting.

The view is definitely worth the drive.

I never knew there was a stretch of restaurants located in Ternate, Cavite.

You can plan a road trip with your friends, just like I did, or stop by for a meal on the way to Batangas with your family!

There were certain food that I did LOVE which was their seafood medley and sisig. I, however, did not like their version of barbeque and calamares.

The best part about dining with them was their affordable prices and outstanding service.

No wonder they never run out of customers. You get what you paid for.

Alexa Approved Snack Shop - Yolky Toasty (Yolky Toasty)!

A branch of Yolky Toasty opens in Bacoor for Caviteños to enjoy Korean Egg Drop Sandwiches.

Egg drop sandwiches are tasty and filling! No wonder they became a hit and are being loved by many Filipinos since they’re easy to eat while you’re on the go.

No need to visit the mall! The location is accessible!

I ordered the beef pastrami, turkey, and bacon sandwiches to taste. The concept is simple but all of the ingredients blend well together!

Heads up! The shop is not air conditioned. This may be difficult for some since the heat nowadays is unbearable.

There are limited tables and seats for customers to savor their chosen orders.

Make sure to drop by their store located at Garden Plaza Commercial Complex and check why their sandwiches are a hit!

FYI — The Cabin Resorts allows pets in their property! 🐾 (Facebook won’t allow photos & videos together in 1 post) 😭

I’m glad that staycations are opening their humble abodes to our furbabies!

Things that you need to know if you’re bringing your pet with you:

- No pet fee! But they require a security deposit of PHP 2,000.00.
- Only 1 pet is allowed per cabin.
- Stray cats are roaming around the area.

The Cabin Resorts has a vast space to let your pets roam around without a leash. Plus, you can also request the restaurant staff to have them boil chicken for your pet’s lunch and dinner!

Recent Alexa Approved Staycation - The Cabin Resorts ()!

This resort is located in the town of San Miguel, Bulacan! It’s only a 2 hour and 30 minute drive from Metro Manila.

Once you enter the property, you will be dazed on how vast and spacious the place is! The resort has 2 swimming pools and an in-house Filipino restaurant to satisfy all your cravings! I must add that all the dishes I ate from their menu is wonderful.

I booked the Deluxe Cabin which is good for 1 to 3 people. They also have a Loft Cabin which can accommodate a larger group of people.

You get your money’s worth because the rate includes free breakfast and numerous activities that you can try like archery, biking, or kayaking! They offer ATV rides or bonfires by your cabin with an additional fee.

The staff and service was the best part of my stay! They make sure you feel comfortable all through out your stay.

Warnings!

- Power outage from 12-2PM.
- There are stray cats that are aggressive.
- Requests have extra charges like pillows, blankets, towels, toiletries, etc.
- Reception and restaurant is not 24/7 (if this bothers you)!
- Hot water is not stable.
- Room was bright because of the window. As soon as the sun comes, it’s impossible not to wake up from the light.
