Dear Audiences & Film-Makers:
It’s with a heavy heart that I must finally say that the long road for Something Wicked Film Festival/SW FanFest/SW DocuFest has come to an end. After ten years and over 13 events, Something Wicked Entertainment is closing its doors on any further film festivals for the foreseeable future. We’ve had some great times with some amazing film-makers from all over the world and audiences got to experience a wide variety of shorts and features from all genres. Through our three film festivals, we wanted to highlight and promote the more “less mainstream” style of films and film-makers and I believe that we accomplished that. As the Co-Festival Director and Program Director for these events I got to experience stories of all types and help in bringing some of these stories to Georgia audiences. I am so glad I was able to speak with so many film-makers from all over the world both in person and remotely through the years and I want to personally thank every film-maker that participated in our yearly panel discussions that helped us to continue to educate younger and upcoming film-makers. These panel discussions and film-maker interviews were a huge part of what made our events different from others, in addition to showcasing some of the weirdest and wildest films making the film festival circuit.
We hope that film-makers and their films continue to find homes to showcase their work and I look forward to hearing about the newest festival event to pick up where we left off. Film festivals and events are an indie film-makers’ greatest asset and outlet and I hope it will only continue to grow stronger.
Even though this is the end of our three main festival events, Something Wicked Entertainment continues on! All our festival knowledge and info will be folded into our new webpage (when it is complete) and we will continue to engage the film-making arts in different ways. We still have our Fay Wray and Bela Lugosi (II) Tribute Weekends to release (it seems like forever since we originally recorded these) and we have tons of events and other endeavors for 2025 including our first feature length film with the Something Wicked Entertainment banner! We’ve been working on this for a couple years and now it’s time to move forward with new stuff.
You will still be able to access everything SW Film Festival (for the time being) on all our social media sites and our You Tube channel and Vimeo channel, so make sure to check us out there. We hope you’ve enjoyed this “bumpy” ride with us and this long journey of indie film-making art and we hope for the best for all indie film-makers and film enthusiasts.
Feel free to contact me at any time as I’d love to witness the birth of any new indie short or feature film! Thank you for allowing me and everyone here at Something Wicked Entertainment a moment to share your wonderful art with the rest of the world! The world is a richer place for having experienced it.
