🌟Superhero Spotlight: Victoria Lee of Welcome to Chinatown

We are beyond honored to introduce Victoria Lee (), a true New York superhero with an unwavering dedication to uplifting, empowering, and championing her community.

About Vic: is the co-founder of .to.chinatown, a grassroots nonprofit with the mission of community preservation through empowering small business owners and amplifying the voices of those most at risk. By creating an outlet for social good that bridges cultural and generational gaps, Welcome to Chinatown has championed change. The organization has secured over $3 million for Chinatown, launched a grant program to address the lack of funding access to POC and non-English speaking business owners, facilitated COVID-19 vaccine appointments for the senior population, provided hot meals to community pantries, and led awareness campaigns to divert more investments into the community. She is a born and raised New Yorker with the tenacious spirit needed to make an impact for the city she loves. Despite growing up in Brooklyn, Vic made weekly Sunday visits to Manhattan's Chinatown for dinners in her late grandmother's apartment. Those weekly visits became her formative years because she fell in love with Chinatown, a neighborhood that has shaped her into the strong, proud Asian-American woman she is today.

❤️In celebration of AAPI Heritage Month, we are thrilled to support the mission of Welcome to Chinatown by holding a fundraiser for their Small Business Innovation Hub! Throughout the entire month of May, we will donate 50% of all net proceeds from sales of merchandise on our website to The Hub.

The Small Business Innovation Hub will make a meaningful difference to NYC's Chinatown, and we invite you to join us in supporting The Hub by donating directly, participating in our fundraiser, and/or sharing with your community!

More information about the Small Business Innovation Hub at .to.chinatown’s link in bio!

🌟Superhero Spotlight: JUV Consulting - Ziad Ahmed, Shaina Zafar, Daniel Ojo

We are thrilled to introduce three phenomenal members of the team to our Superhero Spotlight series: (Founder/CEO), (Co-Founder/CMO), and (Director of Impact, Strategies, and Culture). We have long admired JUV Consulting's impactful work as the go-to Gen-Z consultants across industries, and were fortunate enough to connect with their team for this series after had the pleasure of meeting Ziad at the VOICES 2022 conference where they were both speakers. JUV Consulting perfectly embodies the idea of 'Be Your Own Superhero' as they take charge of their own generation's narrative in society's cultural conversations. Superheroes like Ziad, Shaina, Daniel, and the rest of the JUV Consulting team inspire us with optimism and enthusiasm for the future!

About Ziad Ahmed:
(Yale ‘21) is the CEO of JUV Consulting, the leading Gen Z agency. He also just graduated from Yale. Additionally, Ziad is the Founder of Redefy, a youth-run non-profit committed to furthering equality. He speaks often on the power of his generation, and he seeks to use his voice to push the envelope forward wherever/however possible. Overwhelmingly though, he’s just another Gen Zer spending way too much time on TikTok.

About Shaina Zafar:
is the Co-founder/CMO at who builds out thought leadership and community building at the company! She is passionate about Asian and Muslim advocacy, cares too much about personalized Spotify playlists, and eats leftovers for every meal.

About Daniel Ojo:
, 23, Nigerian-American based in New York City. He is currently the Director of Impact, Strategies, and Culture at JUV Consulting, and a second-year graduate student at the Jeb E Brooks School of Public Policy at Cornell University, concentrating on Human Rights and Social Justice. His passions include social justice, reality tv, and talking about his nieces.

On screen, having superpowers might be flying over skyscrapers or blasting energy from the palms of your hands. But everyday superheroes with real life superpowers are all around us, working tirelessly to better our world 💫

Jeremy Del Rio (Jeremy R. Del Rio, Esq.]), founder of Thrive Collective], is an everyday superhero using his superpowers to unite people:

“My life mission is to love well, create memories, and change the world. My ‘superpower’ is building community between unlikely friends and allies, cultivating shared vision, and bringing that vision to life together. There's nothing more gratifying to me than watching a group of strangers or adversaries do the hard work of identifying what they share in common, and then leverage that unity to create something enduringly beautiful together. The resulting public art, music, and digital media that our students and partners produce elevates a sense of possibility. The shared memory awakens their ability to imagine worlds that don't yet exist, and work collaboratively to make them so.”

Follow Jeremy R. Del Rio, Esq.] and Thrive Collective] to keep up with their amazing work ❤️ For more about Jeremy, check out his ‘Superhero Spotlight’ feature on our feed ✨

Be your own magazine cover star - Be Your Own Superhero!

HOUSE OF SLAY’s mission is to create a fun, empowering, and inclusive space, where everyone is welcome, feels seen, and is accepted. We started our comic series because we wanted to bring more diversity and representation to mainstream media’s portrayal of powerful superheroes. We hope that through speaking up, telling stories, and uplifting people and communities, we can change the narrative and shift the paradigm.

There are superheroes all around us that are doing important work everyday to make the world a better place. We want to champion those who are speaking up, and fighting for what they believe in. Next Monday, we are launching a ‘Superhero Spotlight’ series that will highlight everyday superheroes and make them the magazine cover stars we all want to see! Stay tuned✨

Thank you all for your incredible support for our mission, and for helping us create spaces where everyone feels empowered to be their own superhero. Happy holidays from the HOUSE OF SLAY 💫!
