“So you went from cutting hair for the boys at school to like working in a barbershop, to that barbershop closing down. And then you just thought, sweet, I’ll just all have my own barbershop.”

didn’t think he’d open a barbershop, let alone succeed, at the age of only 19. But when opportunity knocked, he thought why not.

This is the rollercoaster story of a crazy 12 months, from opening up shop, having a crazy opening day, then basically having no customers for months, then cracking the code, making money, having to shutdown, and opening back up in a new space.

Jaedz shows us what that journey looked like, his mindset throughout, crafty ways he managed to stay afloat and ways he managed to make money, behind the curtains of the business with all the numbers (income, margins, how it all works), and how he’s managed to create the brand he has today.

We can learn while we do, for sure. But sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in reading books, watching videos, and talking to people…

That we never get to taking action.

It’s okay if you’re a learner and not an action taker yet. It’s okay if you just want to learn. And it’s okay if you want to dive in head first and just DO 🤣

Testing, testing ⚠️ I’m chatting a new side hustle of mine in this ep, and talking about a new tool I’m using to help me with the boring admin side of things.

I've recently started using it (like literally 48 hours ago) for a new venture/side hustle I'm starting quietly. Seeing as you have to pay taxes and do accounting stuff for all the money you earn when you're not an employee, and I'm lazy, I decided on using Hnry based on cost and ease of use.

No matter what I do, I can't write this without making it look like an ad - but it's not paid for or anything by them... although Hnry, feel free to slide into my DMs xx

Nike’s my favourite brand. ➡️ Here’s some of my fave bold ads they put out back in the day —> mostly from the Oxford Street store Nike anniversary exhibition… but that last one? I found outside a Nike store in Milan.

One of my favourite things is seeing old advertising… might be weird, but something about seeing what brands did in the past is so fascinating to me.

It’s so different to today, but it obviously had its time and place. The funny thing is Phil Knight never had the time for care for “marketing”. He believed that if a product was that good it sold itself.
