Season 45 Message to Golf Clash Chillers players. Plenty of room for new players as well!
Golf Clash Chillers as a group is about two and half years old. We have had a certain way of doing things and I think we have been successful. Some things are changing but I want to be sure we hold on to what is good about what we have right now.
From the start, we have not been a C100 oriented group. We don't have "feeder" clans that exist only for the sake of "more important" clans. In other words, Golf Clash Chillers does not exist for the sake of having a C100 clan. It exists for the players to get the most out of Golf Clash. However, we have some big hitters who are interested in C100. That's getting the most from the game for them so I think it has a place in our group if it is not at the expense of anything else.
I would not agree to support a push effort if I did not think that we can carry on exactly as we have for those that are happy with things now. I will not be playing any accounts in the push. I have my hands full as it is and I want to continue to focus on our group overall. I also want to make Rookie YouTube content and figure out my own shots instead of playing Expert and eventually Master tourneys with a guide just to crank out points.
I will be the first to admit that the planning for next season has not been great and that is largely on me. For the past two seasons I have been much more preoccupied than usual. Two seasons ago I spent a huge amount of time on developing the Golf Clash Tournament and Tour Help group. I barely had any time to do clan planning for this current season before the season started and boom, it was a Major and I played four accounts. I got some bad personal news on the Friday afternoon OR was ending and have spent most of this season dealing with that (all OK now). So basically I am two months behind on a post like this and I apologize.
The clan that will be pushing is Lucky Chillers, Darren Rothrock's clan. Darren is a massive scorer and has several big hitters in his clan who regularly do 10-16k+. Some of those are bringing in their other big accounts for next season, and Darren has other new players interested as well. Lucky Chillers has only been part of Golf Clash Chillers for three seasons now and Darren has always set the tone there to be scoring oriented. In other words, Lucky Chillers pushing is not going to result in any players getting pushed out.
That's something I will NEVER let happen. I will never tell a player, your contributions have been great for the past year but now it's not enough. Score more or leave or get kicked. For this reason, GC Chillers will never be a C100 clan unless we just happen to be so strong we banner in M3 without even trying.
I did not expect that there would be a push this upcoming season. I thought we were just going to start seeing how far up the bracket we could move and start slowly building strength. It turns out there's a pretty significant amount of interest so instead of just testing the waters it looks like we might have a chance depending on the bracket. (Sometimes it's a bracket of doom, every promo spot 500k+. Sometimes more around 400k for last in.)
I think that for us to be truly successful as a group it is time to start thinking of all of our clans as one team instead of being a collection of teams. For me, it is being connected outside of the game that really makes that true. Our shot sharing is active through the Golf Clash Tournament and Tour Help group. We are still in the middle of our first in house friendly tournament. Sure, it's taken two weeks so far but we're Chill about it. Learned a lot, next one will be more efficient.
We have a group Messenger chat for general chat between clans and a chat for the in-house tourney which has developed into a more free-wheeling fun chat and place to find matches for friendlies or just BS a bit. So far it's all Facebook but we will have Telegram chats soon. Andy and I also have web development in the works so we may be able to develop an online community apart from Facebook.
If people aren't interested in all of that, it's fine. I've always wanted Golf Clash Chillers to be a player first group of clans. What I mean is that the clan should help the player, not the other way around. (Just need players to actually play some.)
I have made huge personal sacrifices in my own game for the sake of the clan fam. I'm not complaining and normally would not mention it. We're in a bit of a spot here and need to make some decisions and get smoothly on to next season. I'm asking that we not spend too much time dissecting anything that might have gone wrong and focus on the great options we have moving forward.
We are a group of nine clans. We're still growing into that and will not be adding more anytime soon. 450 roster spots, 300+ players, one team. Here's how it breaks down.
We have a push clan for those who want to go for it. 4k min for this season, might change to 5k as we finalize the roster. Lots of interest.
We have an M3 clan for any player who wants to try to score at least 500 points next season. That's low for an M3 clan. We have M2 clans with the exact same perks less 5% gems with no min or point goal. We will have an M1 clan for resting, only requirement is to log in at least once a week.
In other words, we have a spot in a Master clan for every player at whatever level of activity they want, including as little as just logging into the game occasionally.
Chill Team Six will be in a transitional situation after a successful M2 Gold push this season. This is the result of poor planning which I must apologize for. Everyone is welcome to stay there of course and enjoy M3 perks. We have other clan options as well for next season and could possibly regroup in CT6 at any time.
CT6 will possibly relegate to M2 over the course of next season, but we don't know for sure. For instance, if Lucky Chillers is out of contention for promo by middle of next season we can shift players over to CT6 to keep it M3. Then next season we will have a choice of two M3 brackets for a potential push. Many C100 groups have two clans they push on alternate seasons since it is generally easier to promote to C100 than to stay in C100.
We can probably take most of the CT6 players not moving to Lucky Chillers in GC Chillers if anyone just wants to settle into a low stress M3 stay clan. We also have room for quite a few in Shoot to Chill which would be the low stress M2 experience. Any of our other clans would be fine as well. Here's the full breakdown:
Lucky Chillers, M3 and pushing for C100, 4k+
GC Chillers, M3 with 1k point goal, 500 OK (not strict). I am planning on putting most of my accounts in GC Chillers. If it gets full I'll spread them out more. I will have two mid level accounts as pres in STC and Chill Clan and low level accounts in Cereal Chillers, RotoChillers and Chill Factor.
Perfectly Chill, M3 with no min, very active, fun chat, sort of off color. There's this Migs guy who has weird a**l warts and likes to talk about them which Ricky finds fascinating. Unusual family life as well. He's funny.
Those are our three other M3 clans. That's where we need points the most but all will be OK. It takes about 40k more points to stay M3 vs. M2 and the difference in perks is only 5% gems. So generally, we are not trying to promote our M2 clans. If it happens, great. The M2 clans are:
Shoot to Chill, M2, no min. Our second oldest clan. Good core group there, good sense of community.
Chill Clan, M2, no min, our former rest clan. Got some new players in who pushed from M1 up to M2 with a Gold last season and holding strong. Chat and community still developing but it's there.
Cereal Chillers, no min, M2, with new president Namsayn Son. No min, but need to stay active. Probably will stay M2 no problem but M1 is OK, want to have maximum fun, play friendlies, try crazy hook, slice and dunk shots and post, etc.
The remaining two are Chill Factor (Shirland Kurt Joseph pres) which will be our rest clan in M1 and RotoChillers in Pro2 (Andy pres) building on an R3 Gold and climbing up the ranks.
If you want to be added to any of our chats, please let me know.
We have general Golf Clash Chillers chat. Has been around for a while, mostly used for announcements but also for general social and fun stuff. Has been picking up in recent seasons, a bit quieter more recently since the introduction of...
GCC Clan Tourney chat. This is for coordinating our in house tournaments and general fun and BS. Players can join and leave as they wish.
The game help chats are not technically part of Golf Clash Chillers. They are through Andy Lemke's Golf Clash Presiding group which hosts Golf Clash Tournament and Tour Help. That is our shot sharing network, but it is not limited just to players in our clans. We did not start it to recruit, but it has helped to attract a few new players.
For tournaments we have:
GCP General Tourney Chat
GCP Rookie Tourney Chat
GCP Pro Tourney Chat
GCP Expert Tourney Chat
GCP Master Tourney Chat
For tour help we have:
GCP Front Tees Tour Help
GCP T7 Help
GCP T8 Help
GCP T9 Help
GCP T10 Help
GCP T11 Help
GCP T12 Help
GCP T13 Help

I'll be posting this on our page as well, which is public. Anyone can view it if they like even if they don't have a FB account. I will get the word out in a clan chat a bit later this evening. I've been doing clan stuff non-stop for about six hours and I'll be at it still for a while. I'd like to get everything lined up for next season and get back to playing Golf Clash! Meanwhile please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks for playing Golf Clash with the Chillers.
Since this is so long anyway, might as well close with The Chillosophy.
The Chillosophy
It's a game.
We want to have fun. If it's not fun, something is wrong.
We want to be competitive, but not at the expense of having fun.
Tournaments mean different things to different players and require a time commitment so tournaments are optional.
Tournament points are important so tournaments are encouraged.
Clan points come from playing the game, so we value active players at any level.
We have reasonable point goals and different clan levels so we can accommodate any active player.
Players need breaks so we have a rest clan.
Everyone deserves to be in a clan they like. We have no hard feelings about players who move on.
We try to help each other as much as possible with the game and welcome any questions.
Everyone can play their game however they want at whatever level they want.
Chat participation is encouraged but optional.
No politics in chat. We're here to play finger golf, have fun and relax.
Drama sucks.
We're adults, we can fu***ng swear if we want. But that sh*t's usually pretty low key.
We have a Facebook group. Participation is encouraged but optional.
We are International and welcome players from any country.
We are 420 friendly but it's not a theme. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.
