Blaming the failing economy on immigrants, classic diversion tactic. "Immigration only deepens economic disparity between voters", is such a statement and a half. Realistically, increasing economic disparity has been caused by having a Conservative Government who have given us the highest tax burden, increased the national debt threefold and absolutely butchered Brexit. Not to mention the countless scandals of our money going off to dodgy contracts and the complete abomination that is the Rwanda Scheme, which even Rishi didn't want to support. The increase in boat crossings is a direct result of the failure of Brexit; if we still had closer ties to the EU, we would have much better control over stopping dangerous boat crossings.

Again, if the society had the highest levels of integrity, this post would not have been made in the first place. The use of the image and "sink the boats" would have been caught by anyone with a shred of humanity and integrity, and it would have been changed before you posted it.

"Displeased by your framings of events", I'm sorry your highness! Its been framed exactly how it is. You dropped the ball hard, you failed to follow basic guidance on use of social media for your society, and advertised an event admitting that the house would support letting immigrants drown when it is a very controversial and contentious ongoing issue that affects real people's lives. Again, its laughable to try and defend this when the newspapers and even your own political party have given you a telling off.

Lol now you guys are talking about how we can't have immigrants because of birth rates? Birth rates going down is a reason why we should be drastically increasing the amount of immigrants! If this country is going to continue to be a respected world power, it'll be because we open our arms to the rest of the world, not start shooting at them. The Tories really do never change. 50 years ago you were going on about how bringing immigrants into the country would create 'rivers of blood'. You're just a bunch of small and insecure racists. Why are we being villainized? Admins are censoring UCL Tory soc cause of bias. We have reiterated our positions and were very clear, this is about intl law and economic security. The attacks on the ships are without merit or just cause and only seeks to harm Palestinian life.

Furthermore our statements about immigrants is more to do with declining birth rates, immigrants do not help that, our population is in crisis and immigration only deepens economic disparity between voters. It's not their fault, but we can't have them. The UCL Tory society maintains the highest levels of integrity and tolerance for other membere of society. We are displeased by your framing of events and have already sanctioned individuals who've made racist comments at the event.

We will continue to submit posts about this until you give us our side of the story.

That’s not really an excuse. Even if it’s true none of the club members support the stuff their committee posts in public for everyone to see, that’s still a grossly inappropriate usage of social media. It looks like the textbook examples taught to presidents and treasurers on how not to post on social media. If the society uses their Instagram page like a private WhatsApp group chat with their mates, there are some serious issues with their management.

I know P&P is usually jokey, but this is just such poor taste. Advertising a debate on “sinking the boats” is wrong, even the CCHQ have given you a telling off. Its hard to believe that noone on committee doublechecked it and went “yeah thats going to cause a backlash”. It reflects poorly on the society and UCL.

Its almost the same as advertising a debate on “the house would support killing homeless people to solve the housing crisis”. Except calling it “sinking the boats” is dehumanising enough that you can get away with not just saying “let the immigrants drown”.
