Kristina will be speaking at the American Folklife Center's Symposium: Traditional Folklore in a Digital World tomorrow! She will be on a panel with Lamont Jack Pearley (The African American Folklorist), Mark Norman (The Folklore Podcast), and Aaron Mahnke (Lore). The Symposium is free and online, but requires registration.
Last chance to register for the first panel of Traditional Folklore in a Digital World, a two-part online symposium at the Library of Congress, examining some of the ways folklore is spread, discussed, and transformed in the digital environment. This first panel is focused on podcasts, and features Kristina Downs (Crimelore), Aaron Mahnke (Lore), Mark Norman (The Folklore Podcast), and Lamont Jack Pearley (Jack Dappa Blues and the African American Folklorist). It takes place online on August 17 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Admission is FREE, but registration is required. (The second panel, on August 24, at 10:30 a.m., is about social media.)
