Having a treatment plan is important when it comes to any mental health disorder but when it comes to any form of schizophrenia it is very important. Many people are treated by a combination of medication, therapy of some sort ( group, clinical, ect.) and having a support system to make sure they are staying on track and act as a helping hand. There is no cure but with these treatments you can manage it and keep it uncontrol.

People often think that there is only one kind of schizophrenia but in fact there are multiple. There is paranoid schizophrenia, disorganized, or hebephrenic schizophrenia, catatonic schizophrenia, childhood schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorder. All of these have their own signs and symptoms as well as are treated differently.

What are the symptoms of schizophrenia?
Signs in adults:
- Negative symptoms
- Delusions
-Hallucinations
-Disorganized Thinking (speech)
-Extremely disorganized or abnormal motor behavior
- Negative sympyoms
Signs in teenagers:
-Withdrawal from friends and family
-A drop in performance in school
-Trouble sleeping
-Lack of motivation
-More likely to have visual hallucinations
-Less likely to have delusions

Schizophrenia is a long-term mental disorder that involves a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusions, and a sense of mental fragmentation.
