No new episode today - unfortunately life got in the way and it’s been a stressful couple of weeks at Strangeness towers.

All being well we’ll get it done for next week and service will continue as normal.

So, we all know that Mike hated Ghost Rider, but did you know he also hates bad shark movies. I personally love them. Any Sharknado fans out there? and should I make Mike watch it??
Do you want to hear what we think?

Our minisode for Patrons is out!
Sorry for the delay - life and al that.

We’ve done another watch-along commentary for you, this time we watched Ghost Rider (2007) with Nick Cage, and let me tell you, it’s absolutely dreadful.

It’s such a bad movie that it’s not even “so bad it’s good,” it’s just… terrible.

Some of the effects are laughably poor and that’s some of the best parts of this film.

The script was almost certainly written in crayon, the characters are paper-thin, and the hero goes through almost no development whatsoever.

I could go on for hours, and actually we did, and you can listen to us rip this film a new one as you watch along.

Just queue up the film on Netflix, and press play when we say, to watch along with us.

We’re sorry, but not as sorry as writer/director Mark Steven Johnson should be.

! You have new content to explore.

First up is Minisode 35: Zoe tells us about the murder of Julia Wallace, in 1931.

Called the impossible murder, Zoe seems to think that might be a misnomer, as the case was essentially bungled by the police.

That being said, there are some tantalising details and possible suspects, and it is still classed as unsolved…

Next up is the outtakes from episode 41, where Mike talks about his ni**le piercings.

Make of that what you will.

It’s so hot. It’s been over 30C for days now. The UK is not set up for this - mostly only shops have AC.
(Pic from Nat Geo.)

Anyway, tomorrow we release our 50th episode! We didn’t really think we’d make it this far, but here we are.

So, prep yourself for more of our usual kind of nonsense, interspersed with actual research about our purported topic.

Patreon subscribers get outtakes from ep. 39 - The Dodleston Messages - AND a new minisode today.

Zoe tells us about the secret language of flowers that the Victorians invented to send secret messages.

Not only did different flowers have different meanings, but different colours of the same flower could mean different things too!

Sound complicated? It gets worse…

Who’s watching the D. B. Cooper documentary on Netflix?

I’m on episode 4, where they’re looking into connections with the French language Dan Cooper comics.

We covered the incredible case back in February, so now would be a great time to go back and check out the episode as a companion piece to the documentary, especially if you haven’t listened to it - and if you have, it’s a good refresher!

It’s still the only unsolved air jacking in US history, over 50 years later!

Let us know your favourite suspect(s) in the comments, or by emailing us at stories of strangeness at gmail dot com!

Here’s a little clip from our latest batch of outtakes. Zoe struggles with “the Society for Psychical Research,” which – fair play – is a struggle at the best of times.

Don’t worry though, Mike makes just as many mouth-shames on his turn and evidence WILL be forthcoming.

Want to listen to the whole thing, PLUS a whole back catalogue of mess-ups?

But wait, there’s more! You also get access to our timelapse art videos AND over 30 minisodes.

How much does this cost, you ask?

Well we stopped trading in souls and firstborns as it got messy, so it will cost you just £3 per month, or the equivalent in your money!

Less than a cup of coffee! Bargain.

Tomorrow sees a new episode of Stories of Strangeness!

In this clip, we’re talking about a strange language spoken in a certain part of the world that doesn’t correspond to any neighbouring languages… and no, it’s not Welsh!

Guesses as to the topic are welcome, although if you get it from this I’ll be amazed!

14/07/2022

Zoe has it all planned out.

Had chance to listen to episode 47, about the mysterious death of Elisa Lam yet?

If not, here’s a snippet to tempt you.

If so, what did you think? Was it a tragedy due to Elisa coming off her meds, or was it something more sinister? Was she hiding from someone in the elevator?

Let us know…

10/07/2022

We’re back to posting minisodes again!

Minisode 31 deals with the Antikythera mechanism - an ancient mechanical calculator of unknown origins.

Of course, we digress too, as we often, (always,) do.

Here, we’re talking about people kissing manatees, thinking they are mermaids…

Want access to our back catalogue of 31 minisodes, as well as outtakes and Timelapse videos of art? Join our Patreon for a paltry £3 a month, ($3.61,) and get listening!

Episode 47: Dark Water - The Mysterious Death of Elisa Lam is now available!

Mike tells us about the real life disappearance and death of Elisa Lam, which eerily parallels the film Dark Water, released 8 years prior to the incident.

We also talk about the best way to hide Mike’s body; why people agree to share their darkest moments on tv & why not all heavy metal musicians are satanists.

Hi Folks!

Normal service will resume shortly!

I am ill/sick. AGAIN!

That’s been about 3 times in the last month!

Hopefully after this my immune system will be superhuman, and I’ll just naturally become immortal as a result, and thus become the 1st paranormal podcaster to have to do an episode about themselves.

Actually there’s probably loads of podcasters that have covered their own experiences. Bad example.

Anyway due to lurgey, there will be no episode tomorrow. Again.
Apologies.
Again.

out today! Listen as Mike tells us the story of D. B. Cooper, who hijacked a plane in 1971 and leaped out of it with £200,000 to an uncertain fate, in the only unsolved case of air piracy.

There are some wild theories about this one, including that The Room star Tommy Wiseau was Cooper and used the money to fund the film…

Had a chance to listen to our yet? It’s our first full length listener story & it’s chilling!

We are hoping to do more in the future, but for that we need submissions!

Send your strange story to Stories of Strangeness at gmail – we’d love to hear from you!

It’s day!

Episode 44 of SoS is out and it’s our first full length listener story.

Zoe recounts Chris’s chilling tale of his encounter with a shadow entity, including lost time and ongoing nightmares - that was witnessed by three other people - back in the late nineties.

This tale gave both of us chills - listen in now!

13/02/2022

Tomorrow is our first full-length listener story, and it’s an absolute banger!

Zoe recounts Chris’s chilling tale from the late 90’s that includes a large, shadowy entity, lost time, and a car full of screaming friends.

Today’s episode has Mike telling us about Die Glocke - ‘The Bell’ in English.

This mysterious N**i device could have been for enriching uranium, or an antigravity device, a wormhole generator, or even a time machine – no one knows!

Image 4 is of the ‘flytrap’ cooling tower at the Wenceslas mine where Die Glocke, which the N**i’s called ‘war decisive’, was tested. Huge power cables delivering high voltage were found - that an ordinary cooling tower would not require…

Image 5 shows a mock-up of the Kecksburg UFO that crashed in the woods of Pennsylvania, that bears an uncanny resemblance to Die Glocke.

Finally is an image alleged to be of the actual Kecksburg object, loaded on the back of the truck despite officials insisting they found, “absolutely nothing.”

Hmmm. 🤔

Episode 41 — Do We Live In A Simulation? — is out now!

In this episode, Mike tells us about the theory, which is gaining ground in some scientific circles, that the universe is a simulation.

We talk about the Matrix, Plato’s allegory of the cave, Zhuang Zhou’s butterfly dream, and naturally digress into Betty White’s passing, Zoe’s inability to read the weather, (as evidenced in this clip,) and various other random topics.

Thanks to for the idea.

tomorrow!

In this clip we lament the sad passing of Betty White. It was not that long ago that we introduced out 10yr old daughter to The Golden Girls for the first time. She was a fan, of course.

Anyway, episode 41 releases tomorrow at 9am GMT, and we hope you’ll listen in!

Happy new year from us at Stories of Strangeness, to you!

Here’s hoping it’s filled with maybe different strangeness to 2021, and remember – Soylent Green was set in 2022…
