A French arbitration court has ordered the Malaysian government to pay $14.92 billion (RM62.6 billion) to the descendants of the last Sulu sultan.

There were no Malaysian officials in a Paris court when an arbitrator named Gonzalo Stampa made the decision. The arbitrator is from Spain.

The decision was based on the alleged violation of the 1878 agreement signed by Sultan Jamal Al Alam, Baron de Overbeck, and the British North Borneo Company's Alfred Dent. They agreed to give up RM5,300 in cession money, but they didn't pay it.

In the Lehigh Valley and across the country, the cost of fuel is rising, with gas prices at their highest level since 2014.

Wednesday, an investigation of prices found a peak near $3.80 per gallon in Allentown. The prices are expected to rise even more in coming days.

It cost $3.73 in the state, which was 20 cents more than the national average, AAA said. If you look at the national average of $3.53, it's 5 cents more than a week ago and 21 cents more than last month.

A tool called Nvidia RTX LHR v2 Unlocker was recently uploaded on GitHub, claiming to allow users to unlock the full Ethereum mining capabilities of Nvidia RTX graphics cards. However, the utility did not work at all, and according to Tom's Hardware, it was essentially malware. ChumpchangeXD and Y3ti, members of the mining community, disclosed the facts yesterday during a livestream on the Red Panda Mining channel.

While the malware's purpose is unknown at the moment, it contains payloads for at least 18 different trojans and viruses that are capable of infecting your entire network or compromising your desktop wallets.

Intel, the world's biggest chipmaker by revenue, has made its first move into the world of cryptocurrencies with the launch of a powerful new mining chip. Cryptocurrency and non-fungible token (NFT) mining is a big business right now, and the company wants to cash in on that with its new chipset, which it claims is 1,000 times faster than most conventional Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).

Intel thinks its chip is an energy-efficient "accelerator" that can make blockchain tasks a lot faster and more environmentally-friendly than they are now. If this is true, it could make the process more efficient and cut down on the carbon footprint of blockchain mining.

According to a statement made on Tuesday, January 8, Russia's government and central bank have agreed to develop legislation or alter current regulations to recognize cryptocurrency as a form of currency.

This is in contrast to the Bank of Russia's previous stance. The central bank proposed prohibiting mining and many other cryptocurrency operations last month, citing fears that they presented a threat to the country's financial system.

The Australian National Maritime Museum (ANMM) is certain they have located the last resting place of a great explorer from Teesside's research vessel-250 years after its epic journey of discovery.

Captain James Cook, born in Marton, Middlesbrough, which now houses the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum, is well known for his three expeditions to the Pacific Ocean and Australia between 1768 and 1779.

Kevin Sumption, chief executive of the ANMM, said today (Thursday, February 3) that the ultimate resting place of his ship "Endeavour" has been located after more than two centuries.

Cook notably employed the ship, dubbed the Endeavor, on his first voyage of discovery to the Pacific Ocean between 1768 and 1771, which resulted in Britain's first meeting with the "unknown southern country" of Australia.
