When we ask “who is suffering” and go looking for that one, what is the outcome?

Try it.

You may realise that you can’t find such an entity in your experience. All you find are thoughts and feelings rising and falling.

So where is this supposed entity that is suffering?

Nowhere!

So much for suffering then.

The analytical mind is the creator of separation.

It interprets experience, which is unified and whole, and in the process breaks it into pieces.

“Me” and “not me”. This and that.

In pure experience, prior to thoughts, there is no such separation.

Try to see this if you can.

One of the best meditations, in my view, is to sit quietly and watch all things rise and fall.

Sometimes you’ll get taken away in thought streams, but that’s ok.

Just gently return to knowing awareness.

Notice how no one is in control and that’s ok.

The limited self is actually described more accurately as a verb (a doing) than a noun (a thing).

Why?

Because the limited self is a thought pattern. When it is not in thought, it does not exist.

It is an interpretation of the mind. Nothing more.
