It’s easy to romanticise about a time when things were simpler when we didn’t have Social Media & Smart Phones. Unfortunately modern technology & the way we live doesn’t give a stuff about your or my feelings.
At one stage I was definitely in the anti social media club! I wasn’t excited when Facebook & Social Media became a thing! I avoided it like the plague. I would say that if people needed to contact me they should talk to me face to face or they could call, text or email.
It wasn’t till I started working with NetPharmacy.co.nz & other businesses taking advantage of Social Media & E-Commerce I realised it didn’t matter about my feelings. If I wasn’t going to embrace the way the world is I was falling behind. These days I embrace the reality of the world rather than trying to live in a world that used to be! I love it more than I ever new I would because I see the opportunity for the building of business & brand that we now have without gate keepers, red tape & crazy overheads. The middle man has gone!

Daily content is key & if u are spending money on advertising so are multiple ad sets. For Social Media think of your JAB as posts that create engagement, entertain, tell your story, build trust or educate. Meanwhile your RIGHT is your money shot where you directly promote your business, brand, service, product, event or whatever else u aim to promote. If you just throw RIGHTS’ all day people will lose interests fast and you will struggle to build and a engaged audience.

Content is king & it’s good to have a mix of photos & videos! Maybe u don’t feel comfortable talking to a camera at 1st or being in photos, that’s not a reason to not start making content.
This is how I started making content: Videos of me training people & photos that also related to my coaching & PT business. Maybe u can find something in your industry to make videos of or take photos of & if writing is more your thing write amazing copy to go with IT! Sure not everyone will read all of your captions but those who do are what matters. They will end up being the people that can relate to u & u can engage with.
The only mistake u can make is to spend too much time thinking and not executing. There is no right or wrong answers because u always learn!

Instagram has been trialling removing likes in AUS, NZ and 5 other countries but this week it’s being trialled in parts of the USA also! 😱
As u can imagine there is a huge backlash going on against the change! But not from us, my team and I are all for it 👍👍👍
Why? Chasing likes can limit creativity!!! Plus in our overly insecure society it’s good for people’s mental wellbeing and hopefully we will all try to find happiness for ourselves rather than from like counts or other external sources.
Instagram just like Facebook is not going away! This is a great opportunity for those to win that are creating the best content instead of being dwarfed by accounts which have been in the game much longer than them. Nobody should be entitled to success on Instagram!
Also in the world of business and instagram influencer marketing there is still backend analytics. Plus there are other metrics that are more important for brands!

REALITY: We might get annoyed when we see people living off their phones but really that’s our feelings based on the past and perhaps how we grew up! This feeling is not unique, people felt the same way when TV’s or cars were introduced to society. It doesn’t change the fact we cannot blindly stay in a time warp not accepting the future because of our emotions towards it!

It has been a passion of mine for many years in Auckland. Whilst my full time gig was a boxing coach and personal trainer, I also spent a lot of time working closely with four major brands helping them understand social media, e-commerce and email marketing. All to build their audience, brands and in turn sales.
My mentor always tried to get me to go all in on the industry but it was hard to stop coaching and personal training work as I find it so rewarding. Fast forward five years and a bad back injury that had been lingering from the years of boxing, weight training and a lifetime of sport prior to my studies of the body and exercise left me in a position where I had to take a break from my gym life and concentrate on my social media passion. -
I now how have a team of like minded individuals helping me out and we are a full time social media management team offering a platform of services. My team and I are passionate about helping all business succeed so we have decided to start sharing the how’s and why’s of social media marketing with you! -
We will be taking you behind the scenes of the rebuild of my personal brand ‘the Raw Coach 2.0’ .0 which will be focused on health and wellbeing through boxing, weight training, nutrition and natural living.
