Armored Core is one of the first games I really fell in love with on the Playstation. It's a mech arena before battle arenas were every other game. Well, technically, you battle other AI mechs on missions in 3D battlegrounds, and you collect parts to upgrade your mech.

The fun part is the engineering. The more you battle, the more parts you get, and you can build the mech that fits your battle style. You can go agile and install boosters, or you can go tank-heavy and build armors, and heavy canons.

It's Monster Hunter/Godeater/Eve Online, but with robots.

So basically: kill the other robots and make yourself stronger with their carcass.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is due out this year. Nothing much is revealed in the trailers, but it has that darker, grittier feel to it that previous AC iterations don't have. Narration on trailer gives it a post-apocalyptic feel, and the lone mech featured at the start scavenging for parts among the rubble also hints that things have fallen apart since we last visited the world of Armored Core.

You know what I hate? Badly designed inventory system. I hate thinking about my inventory, what I can pick up and what I need to throw out, every few minutes of the game.

It's why I gave up on Elder Scrolls Online, and is now why I'm losing interest in Torchlight II.

Tried the crossplatform MMORPG that has a minting feature so you can sell off your characters. Interesting. Fun game play. Even without the whole NFT aspect, it's an enjoyable albeit unoriginal experience. Plus, you can play it on mobile.
