Men! Do you know what your ladies really want? It isn't flowers or diamonds....it's a handmade milking station!

While we wait for us to resolve our technical difficulties getting our new video to upload...here is the awesome milking station Ken made.

Truthfully we bought it, but the front part didn't quite hold in all of our goats properly, so Ken pulled the front part out and built this beauty in one night!

Seriously....nothing more attractive than your man building a milk station on the fly, in one night, and magically all the specs line up for the goats perfectly!

Over the last weekend we spent some time with Andy from Andy's Little Homestead . As a team we got Andy's sawmill up and running very quickly.
Andy's a great guy and as real in person as he is on video. We look forward to going back and helping with other projects. I can't stress enough that homesteaders need to network with like minded folks. Help each other out.

Ken got us our newest addition to our piggy family! 🐷 His name is Tank since he was the biggest out of his siblings. Tank will be our Hereford stud to breed with our Tamworth females. We are still looking for a Tamworth intact male to breed a secondary non-related line, but for now Tank is a good start to our pig breeding. It's a plus he is super adorable!

Long ruff day. But we made our goal happen. Flooring for bedroom expansion is down. Nate did good running the saw. Sky did great getting the decking off and helping me with floor. Tyler finished his day helping dad.
Been trying to keep sky busy and occupied.

We also relocated the solar panels and now have all 4500 watts hooked up. Solar mount will be started after we get the house moved.

So since the baby arrived we decided we are expanding our master bedroom.

We will then be able to have dressers for momma, baby, and daddy. We are also installing a fireplace, so the extra room is badly needed.

To start the bedroom expansion we had to first move the entry door.

Phase 2 is to install the flooring and rough in the new walls.

Wish us luck as we have a lot to do!!!

Sorry for the absence. I'll be back off grid videos soon. We had our baby and iv been exstreamly busy playing catchup. Dr. Took him early and we have been enjoying family and other big events that kinda came in a cluster.

Going to be nice having almost 14kwh of backup vs. 3kwhs. If things go right we will have 28kwh.

We apologize for the lack of posts recently as we have been slightly overwhelmed with our baby's due date a few weeks away and the wife is having a difficult time. So today we picked up 20 more chickens.
5 Rhoad island reds
5 isa browns
5 barred rocks
And 5 meat cornish hens
Later we will pickup 3 turkeys and 10 more chickens 5 being meat chickens.
We dispatch and process our own chickens. We know where they came from and the fresh food is amazing.
