Introducing our lead actor -
John Zibell is an actor, director, and scholar of performance and media. He is currently a lecturer in Film Production at The University of Salford. Zibell did conservatory training in Stanislavski-based realism and Spolin improvisation in New York with Mike Nichols, George Morrison, and Paul Sills at The New Actors’ Workshop. After nearly two decades of continual study in Nichols’ master class Zibell and Nichols collaborated with Joe Roland on Roland’s off-Broadway play On the Line. Zibell originated the role of Jimmy Patraglia during the 4-year development process for the piece. Zibell has since made experimental and devised theatre at the grassroots level with Shira Piven, and Diane Paulus as well as realist and experimental films. His second feature film S*x and Violence (which he wrote, directed, and acted in) won the Audience Award and Best Directorial Debut at the New York International Indie Film and Video Festival. Zibell trained intensively with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar under the tutelage of Andre Gregory in the work of radical Director/Theorist Jerzy Grotowski. Much of the work formed the basis of his PhD dissertation in Performance Studies and media (UC Davis). Zibell is excited about collaborating on this film which deftly unsettles perceived separations between cinemas of fact and of fiction while exploring the story of US (anti-) hero and Darwin-award-winner “Lawn Chair” Larry Walters, a figure Zibell has been intrigued with since that day in July 1982 when Walters infamously launched himself skyward into the airspace of the Los Angeles International Airport.

Over the past few years Matthew has been developing his skills as a Cinematographer by working on numerous film projects and practising operating cameras such as the
Arri Alexa XT and the Varicam 35, In his free time he has done a lot of photography and he has even picked
up some freelance work shooting Live music and other events. For the film "We found your Glasses Larry"
he will be working as the Director of Photography and he hopes to use his skills and knowledge to help build compelling visuals for the fascinating retelling of Larry's story
We went props shopping last week and found the perfect CB radio for our film. We had so much fun looking around Stockyard North in Manchester and found some really cool props for our film.

Malcolm George is an artist and filmmaker based in Manchester and is Production Designer and Editor of We Found Your Glasses Larry. This project requires a set that will be built around John Zibells talent as a trained improv actor and will reflect the life that Larry lived, bare rooms, coke cans, and his obsession with sitting in a lawn chair in the sky.

Amelia Croom is the producer of this project. She knew she wanted to make films since the age of 7 and has been studying it since she was 14. At university she produced two documentaries and many fiction films. She is very organised and enjoys the puzzle of planning a production. Amelia is fascinated by Larry’s story and is excited to find out more about him as the film progresses. She is inspired by Larry’s drive to complete his goal despite other people telling him he wouldn’t succeed.
Meet our director -
George Trueman is a writer director from Bradford currently based in Manchester. He’s always had a fascination in stories from a young age. Writing and directing for the last three years prior to that working mostly in theatre productions. His focus on character and performance creates a style that drives for human drama rather than flash and action. We Found Your Glasses, Larry is his first foray into art cinema and he is looking forward to this challenging and unique opportunity to dive into a human story which has fascinated him since the age of sixteen. We Found Your Glasses, Larry functions as an essay film into the heart of when obsession overcomes true love and what ultimately wins out and what is lost as well as an analysis into the fable of the American dream.
