Let us talk about consistency!
...and, for a change, this is not about being consistent to post the regular value bombs for our career or business but for our mother, our planet earth.
Jadav Payeng, a farmer from a small village in India's Assam state, had a dream to turn a barren sandbar into a lush forest.
It all started when he came across dozens of dead snakes washed up on the shore, killed by the sun and lack of shade due to widespread deforestation.
Payeng knew he had to take action and began planting 20 bamboo shoots on the island. But he didn't stop there. He worked with the social forestry division to develop a larger project and even after the project was deemed complete, he stayed behind to continue planting and nurturing the trees.
Years went by and Payeng's hard work paid off.
The once-barren sandbar was now a thriving forest, home to Bengal tigers, rhinos, deer, and even elephants.
But Payeng's role as caretaker didn't stop there.
He protected the forest from poachers, ensuring the survival of the rare white rhinos. His efforts were recognized in 2015 when he was honored with the Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian awards.
Despite the challenges he faced, Payeng never lost sight of his goal and his passion for nature.
He continues to work towards expanding his forest, driven by his belief that "Nature is God" and his mission to make a difference.
Today, Payeng is known as the "Forest Man of India," a true inspiration to all who hear his story.
Now folks, that is 37 years of unconditional and determined consistency.
Something awesome isn't it?
