The latest one happened just about an hour ago at the Valero gas station on State Street at Armstrong Avenue, right by Freeway 99.

The sheriff's office says 2 men had walked into the store with handguns, demanded money from the clerk, then took off.

If you know who did this, you can call the sheriff's office at 559-733-6218.

This is the second armed robbery of a gas station in just the last couple weeks.

Earlier this month -- on July 13th -- the sheriff's office went to the Gas Wars Market gas station for an armed robbery. It's just across the street from today's robbery.

In that case, the sheriff's office says two men walked in, one with a handgun, and took two cash registers. It says a gunshot was even during the incident.

The next day, TCSO announced its detectives had arrested 2 brothers from Porterville -- both of whom were booked for attempted murder, robbery, and other charges.

As you get dressed for the day, consider red, white, or blue clothing or accessories in honor of Flag Day, which is today. It is celebrated every June 14th.

The Tulare Chamber of Commerce is honoring Flag Day by unveiling newly restored/updated items at the Tulare County Vietnam War Memorial. That'll be at 9:00 this morning, and you're welcome to attend. The memorial is at Tex Drive and K Street, on the southwest side of the airport.
