After watching Get Out, you question if any other director will put as much thought into a story as Jordan Peele. Us, reminds us that no one ever will. Definitely more of a “horror” movie than it’s predecessor😎😎

This has got to be the best film on my list by far! I can’t even describe the feeling I got watching this for the first time. CHILLS! Jordan Peele quickly became one of my favorite directors and hasn’t disappointed since.

was one of the first films I reviewed on this page. It came out at a perfect time for me and I’ve had a huge amount of love for it ever since. It’s always leaned more on the comedic side than the scary and I think that works a lot better for . and fit pretty perfectly as well. On top of a great tone and perfect casting is a solid story and good amount of creativity, that sounds like a damn good film to me!

Movies based off books either hit, or miss. is an example of good adaptation and I’m lucky that it was my introduction into Stephens work.

The OG ..
Watch it. Love it. Watch it again. is AMAZING and still one of the best actors working today. This is probably one of my top 3 favorite roles of his.

Similar to the Scream films, I have a lot of love and respect for the first movie, but it’s really the only one I’ll go back to. It’s also one of the few “Horror Gore” films I’ll tolerate as most others I’ve seen focus only on the gore and end up loosing something when it comes to the cinematic side of things. Saw does it well though and it’s a brilliant concept!

The original is one of my favorite films on this list. The balance between comedy and traditional “scary movie” plot lines worked so well and even inspired a lot of what we see today. The series, like most, probably lasted a little too long and went a tad too far but the original will always be a work of art.

Good Evening 😏 If you haven’t seen this film, watch it. But for those of you that have I HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking out the film from 2012 with Anthony Hopkins. It follows his life while working on and I enjoyed it more than the original film.

The Halloween Movie Marathon STARTS HERE! Day 1 of 31🎃
I think it makes sense to start with mainly because it feels like preparation for what’s to come. This film recognized what the horror genre had become and leaned into it full force. It’s a great reflection of everything that came before it and it’s a pretty good tease for where the genre is still heading today.
