Srinagar, Aug 28 : Apni Party president Syed Altaf Bukhari on Sunday launched a blistering attack on former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, saying that he has struck a deal with the Bharatiya Janta Party and was responsible for abrogation of Article 370
Addressing a public gathering in south Kashmir’s Bijbhera area, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Bukhari said Azad is directly responsible for abrogation of the Article 370.
“People of Jammu & Kashmir are not fools. People know with whom you have shaken hands. They know with whom you had struck a deal and backstabbed the people of Jammu & Kashmir,” he said.
Bukhari has attacked Azad at a time when he is planning to float a political party ahead of J&K polls.
On Saturday AICC in charge of J&K Rajani Patil had said Azad’s new party would be the "BJP's B-team"—(KNO)

Poonch, Aug 20 : Two days after a man from Poonch was arrested in Jammu with cash, which is suspected to be linked with militant financing network, special teams of Jammu police and State Investigation Agency (SIA) raided several places in the district for further investigation of the case.
Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), joint teams of SIA and Jammu police reached Poonch and have raided many locations today morning.
They said that the teams have raided these locations where some records are being scrutinised, besides questioning of some people.
“There is a strong suspicion that the man arrested in Jammu with an amount of ten lakhs is closely associated with some people in the Poonch district,” they added.
Meanwhile, a senior police official confirmed to KNO that raids were underway at several locations in the district—(KNO)

Srinagar, August 03 : State Investigation Agency of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday carried out raids at multiple places in Baramulla, Kupwara and Poonch districts in connection with a militancy funding case.
Official sources told GNS that SIA personnel with the assistance of police and paramilitary CRPF personnel carried out raids at Baramulla, Tragpora Rafiabad in Baramulla district, three places in Kupwara district and one place in Poonch.
The raids pertain to militancy funding in the J&K. It was not immediately known if the SIA has made any arrests or recovery of any "incriminate" material during the raids carried out today. (GNS)

Baramulla July 07 : A leopard, believed to be a man-eater after it recently killed three teenagers including a girl in Uri, was shot dead by this evening in Uri village of Bernate of North Kashmir’s Baramulla.
Reports reaching to *Kashmir News Service (KNS)*, said that the man eater leopard had killed 15 year old Amir Muneer in Kalsan, 12-year old, Shahid Ahmad, and 12-year old Rutba Maznoor, in the last month of June in Uri areas.
The authorities had declared the leopard a man-eater and ordered its killing. Later wildlife department constituted teams to capture or kill the leopard, official said.
They said several attempts were made to capture the leopard, but it attacked the team, prompting them to open fire. It was shot dead, the officials said.
“We are sure that this is the same animal "leopard", which recently killed the three minors,” they said.
The officials added all attempts were made to capture the leopard alive. But these failed as the animal was able to avoid traps laid at various places.
The locals appreciated the efforts of wildlife department and police for hunting down the man-eater leopard. (KNS)

Srinagar, June 11 : Police and army detected and defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the Srinagar-Baramulla Highway near Bulgam.
Official sources told GNS that some suspicious box, suspected to carry an IED, was found at Bulgam Hygam near Timepass hotel in Sopore area of the north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Soon police and Army’s 52 RR rushed to the spot and subsequently called Bomb Disposal Squad. As a precautionary measure, a police officer told GNS that traffic through the area was suspended. The object turned out to be an IED and was safely defused by the BDS, he said. Traffic through the area has also been restored. "A case has been registered." (GNS)
