COMFORTABLY NUMB

There are times she feels so alone
Trying to do this thing called living
Aimlessly she wanders and roams
A path that's rocky and unforgiving

There are times she wants to quit
She's trying so hard to rid her depression
It isn't easy she must admit
Sometimes she feels it's her only possession

She is so comfortable feeling this way
A familiar place to be
And sometimes she would rather stay
In the dark, instead of free

Some people just don't understand
When you've been through trauma and pain
It doesn't matter who holds your hand
Things will never be the same

The time between midnight and 3AM seems to be the best time for tears, shadows of our worries and ghost of regrets to show up and consume our leftover energy. Most of the time, we spent hours and hours during this time asking what's going on, what to do, or just crying about how our life looks miserable.

And no matter how we try to sleep, we just couldn't. We couldn't because these thoughts knock even in our dreams and turn it into nightmares.

Yes, we try to forget the fall yesterday and try to bounce back next thing in the morning, but until when?

Until when will we stay awake at 3am? How long will these sleepless nights last? When will we get to sleep peacefully without these worries contaminating our dreams?

Until when?

If you're reading this today and you're feeling drained, empty, in the middle of nowhere finding the answers to your what if's. Then I want to tell you that it's okay to have a meltdown, it's okay to feel your warm tears falling down the depths of your personality, it's totally okay to tolerate your feelings of sadness, isolation, mood swings without being anxious if you should tolerate it or not.
It's okay to feel the small details of pain for you to learn the things you need to be more ready on whatever things that life will throw at you. Every stages in life demands a better version of you, without pain their is no experience that can be gained. It's either you learn or you will become naïve for the rest of your life.

Imagine, you settled for less for that person, then he cheated on you. Yet you still give him another chances because you're expecting that he'll change his bad behaviours.

Have you ever loved someone too much, that no matter how many times they've let you down, disappoint you, and hurt you; you're still hoping that maybe somehow, somewhere in between their sunrises and sunsets, they'll realize what they've lost and find you again?

Because I did.
Yes, I still do!
I still have the door wide open, in hopes that sooner or later, you'll come back to find your way home. And that's the saddest part of the story; when your mind is dying to let all the pain go, but your heart keep saying otherwise.
