Phony Cop Tries Pulling Over Real Cop in Rochester Hills!

A Macomb Township man claiming to be a Detroit cop was charged with a misdemeanor after attempting to make a traffic stop, only to find out the car he was trying to stop was being driven by an off-duty Waterford Township police officer.

Christian Katan Mansoor, 18, was arraigned today in 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills on a misdemeanor charge of impersonating a public officer. He was released on $5,000 personal bond.

“Individuals that pose as police officers present a threat to the public and undermine legitimate law enforcement,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “Thankfully, this individual was caught and is being held accountable for this incident. Rochester Police Chief, Steven J. Schettenhelm, is resigning after 15 years as Chief in Rochester and over 41 total years in Law Enforcement.

He was appointed to this position in November 2007 and previously served with the Birmingham Police Department for 25 years.

Chief Schettenhelm was instrumental in helping the Rochester Police Department achieve accreditation from the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police in 2014.

Tree planting to honor 200th anniversary of Stoney Creek Village!

Celebrate Arbor Day with Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan K. Barnett and City staff at the annual Tree Planting Ceremony at 4pm on Friday, April 28, at the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm.

The City will be planting a Black Walnut tree at the Museum, helping to recreate the historic landscape on the park grounds.

The tree is symbolic in many ways, celebrating the 200th anniversary of Stoney Creek Village as well as the City’s 33rd consecutive year as a Tree City USA community.

‘Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue’ on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 7:30pm in the Stoney Creek High School Auditorium.

The concert is open to the public and admission is free.

Donations are gratefully accepted and appreciated.

Featured at the concert will be

French Horn Soloist, Megan DeRubeis performing “Isle of Skye” by Scott Boerma,
and Guest Conductor Dr. Kevin E. Phillips, Retired Director of Bands, Clawson High School.
