If you are posting on social media regularly and not repurposing content, we just want to know one thing: WHY THE HECK NOT?!

Not sure what the heck we are talking about? Don’t worry, we are here to explain.

Repurposing content is when you take existing content that you have already created and repost or reuse a portion of it in a new way. A great example of this would be pulling a clip from a longer YouTube video to post on Instagram Reels.

Why should you be doing this? Well first, it can save a ton of time! Remember that this content/information already exists, which means all you need to do is tweak the format, re-caption, re-schedule, and re-post. Pretty easy right?

In addition to the time-saving component, recycling content also helps you reach more people. By sharing on a new platform or in a new format, you now open your content up to a wider audience who may not have had the opportunity to see it the first time. This is great for growing your brand awareness and organic growth on social media.

Finally, repurposing content will allow you to scale your content creation more easily. As we said it saves time, but it also means that you do not have to come up with a brand new idea, take new photos, and videos, and create a brand new graphic for each and every post. This is especially helpful for our clients who know that social media is crucial to their marketing efforts, but just sometimes can't find the time.

Videos are the most effective form of content on social media right now. Not only does it play nicely with the algorithms, but it also increases reach and engagement and creates a more authentic and genuine experience for your followers.

This means that to boost your reach on socials, it is important for businesses to play into what is working. Right now, that means creating Reels for Instagram and Facebook. And although it might sound intimidating at first, it is not as hard as you might think.

Here are a few tips to help you get started:

- If you are nervous, start with videos where you are off-camera. While it is ideal for your audience to see your face and hear from you, we know this can be overwhelming upfront. So, if you want to get into video content, but need to ease into it, start with videos where you aren't directly camera-facing. These can include day-in-the-life videos, showcasing a product or service with trending audio, or even a short video clip with a text overlay on the screen!

- Talk about what you know. Not every video you create has to be a trend. It is okay to get on and talk about your business, share new information, or just create an engaging video to help your followers get to know you and your brand.

1. Optimize your content! This will make sure that the right people are seeing what you’re posting.

2. Remember who you are posting for. Sometimes it is easy to forget that we are posting for our followers and not for ourselves. Think about what your followers want to see!

Can't find the time to create content consistently?

Trust us, we get it.

As a social media agency, one of the many things we handle for our clients is creating and scheduling amazing content so they don’t have to think about what to post' and can focus on what's important: growing their business.

And we know that it can be a LOT for those of you trying to do this yourself.

That is why the best thing you can do if you are struggling to post consistently (and aren’t ready to hire an agency yet) is to set aside a block of time at the beginning of each week to plan and batch your content.

Even as professionals, we do this on a larger scale to ensure that we are posting consistent, high-quality content across all platforms.

Not sure where to start? Here is a quick guide on how to batch your content:

First, plan for the week and outline what type of content you will post each day. Will it be a video, graphic, carousel, static post, etc...?

Then, create an outline for each post. This might mean writing a script of what you want to say in a video, specifying what information you want to include in a graphic, or writing the caption for a static photo.

Finally, once you have outlined each post, create and save them! For bonus convenience, schedule them into a content management system that posts for you. That way, you can completely coast until the next week!

A few things to think about when creating this content:
- What is currently working well on the apps you use?
- What style of content has worked well for you in the past?
- What value do you want to add in your upcoming content?

1. Determine your social media content goals
Creating business content is not only about selling to your audience, but also relating to them so they feel you understand their desires and pain points. These four emotional content goals will provide a framework to curate social content for your business:
- Education
- Inspiration
- Connection
- Sales

2. Determine which social media platforms you will invest in
Do some research (or let us help you!) to determine which social media platforms your audience spends the most time on. Understanding which platforms your audience uses most will help you decide where your time and budget are best spent.

3. Create a social media schedule you can actually stick to
You might feel like you have to post every day, multiple times a day. In our experience, that’s not at all true.

Do you need to be consistent? Yes.
Do you need to show up online multiple times per week? Yes.

But it needs to be scheduled so as to not burn you or your team out.

1. Batch content production
Batching each step of the process (outlining, filming, graphic design, etc.) allows you to get more content done in less time. Most clients find it less overwhelming, too.

2. Plan what you're going to say
Part of being comfortable on video is knowing exactly what you're going to say! A script or outline can help you stay on track, and it will also help your video editor out!

3. Improve your skills
Making small tweaks and upgrades to your technique can make a world of difference! You'll be able to create better content faster if you learn about lighting, camera settings, composition, and basic editing.
