WE ARE HIRING a Marketing Manager!
The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, managing and securing event sponsors for our primary, annual fundraising events: Wine, Wags & Whiskers; Parade-a-Bull; The Ruff Ride; Woofstock/Woof It & Hoof It; Tinsel & Tails. This role is responsible for securing new corporate/program sponsors, retaining existing corporate/program sponsors and managing those relationships to ensure agreements are mutually fulfilled and maximized. Additionally, the Marketing Manager is responsible for:
Coordination of our silent auctions as well as securing, packaging and pricing of silent auction items for our annual Wine, Wags & Whiskers and Tinsel & Tails events.
Managing special events and securing both sponsors and vendors
Managing, and growing, our FaceBook pages with compelling content
Serving as the shelter’s representative for television and radio appearances
Writing and distribution of press releases
Coordinating direct mail campaigns
Marketing collateral development
Coordination of the shelter’s printing needs
Tracking our annual marketing expenses to ensure budgetary goals are met
Applicants MUST:
Embrace our No-Kill Philosophy
Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher), Experience with graphic design software a plus!
Have a proven and successful track record with planning large events/fundraisers (400 attendees+)
Have a proven and successful track record securing sponsorship (both monetary and in-kind) or in sales
Be comfortable speaking in a group setting or in a media interview
Account management experience is a plus!
Be an excellent communicator—both written and verbal
Be flexible to work some nights and weekends
Be a resourceful problem solver
Be able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
Be able to excel in a high paced work environment where you are surrounded by the distractions of animal sounds, smells and their respective allergens
A degree in business, marketing or other related area of focus is required
Be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs without health risk
Have reliable transportation
