Game day 23
Watford v Portsmouth
Vicarage rd 3pm ko Boxing day
Watford in 8th take on Portsmouth in 20th
Should be a home banker for the Hornets
Portsmouth promoted as champions of league one are trying to avoid a quick return
Watford see the return of Louza in midfield
Last time the two sides met at The Vic was in November 2011
The golden boys won 2-0
Player to watch for Pompey is striker Callum Lang who has scored 13 goals in 28 appearances since his move from Motherwell in the Scottish premiership

Game day 21
Burnley v Watford
Turf Moor Burnley 3pm
A difficult away game for the hornets against 3rd placed Burnley
Watford have a poor record against the Clarets but have a near full squad and TC has promised to “go for it “
No TDB or Keban for the yellows but a squad fresh from another home win against West Brom
Player to watch for Burnley Josh Brownhill and former Millwall man Zain Flemming

Game day 20
Watford v West Brom
2pm ko Sunday 15th December
Vicarage rd

Back to the vic after midweek at Hull City where Rocco Vata scored his first competitive goal in the 1-1 draw
West Brom are a class act and the players to watch are former Millwall winger Jed Wallace and Striker Josh Maja
Both home and away games ended in 2-2 draws last season
Fans seem unhappy (what’s new! ) about the draw at rock bottom City but Tom Cleverly has an opportunity to put things right as Sky sports cover a game which can bounce the Hornets back into the playoff places

11/12/2024

Game day 20 (or 19 revisited )
Hull City v Watford
MKM stadium Hull 7.45 ko
With a game in hand to Saturdays postponement the golden boys sit 7th with a win taking them up to 5th
Should be a foregone conclusion as Hull sit bottom with new manager Ruben Selles arriving from league one Reading
Last years fixture around the same time of year saw a long range Wesley Hoedt effort split the teams by the odd goal in three
Man to watch for The Tigers is striker João Pedro (not the one we sold to Brighton)😂

Game day 19
Cardiff City v Watford
Cardiff City stadium Cardiff 3pm ko

A very brief round up as the game has postponed due to Cardiff city council taking advice from the local police about weather conditions
Please see the below the full statement

Due to new advice received from the Met Office, and the recommendations of Cardiff Council and South Wales Police, Watford’s match away to Cardiff City tomorrow (Saturday December 7) has now been postponed in the interest of supporter safety.

A new date for this fixture will be confirmed in due course.

All match tickets purchased by Hornets supporters for this fixture will be refunded in full via the purchaser’s original payment method.

Those who purchased a ticket by cash will need to visit the Supporter Services Office at Vicarage Road, which is open Monday to Friday from 10am until

Watford will face Fulham at Craven Cottage in the 3rd of the FA cup on the week beginning Saturday January 11th
The tie reunites the club with former head coach Marco Silva managed the hornets during the 2017/18 season
I’m sure Watford fans will give the Fulham coach the appreciation he deserves

01/12/2024

Draw for the 3rd Round proper takes place on Monday 2nd December at 7pm
Watford are ball number 41

30/11/2024

Game day 18
Watford v QPR
Vicarage rd 12.30 ko Sky sports +
The second of two home games on the bounce for the golden boys against a struggling QPR side
Last season the home fixture was over on the first day of the season at half time with a 4-0 advantage to the home team and not a shot on goal from the visitors
QPR are always a dangerous team to play as you don’t know which one ,the good, the bad or the ugly will turn up
The game pits two Scottish internationals against each other in Watford defender Ryan Porteous and Rangers striker Lydon D***s
Both are no nonsense old school competitors and both will be out to rough each other up
Players to watch for the hoops are Lydon D***s and midfield genius Ilias Chair
