Chickens can certainly survive the cold temperatures but it’s in your best interest to prepare their coop and run to make it more comfortable for them.🐓 1. Insulate your coop 2. I don’t recommend heat lamps but a warming plate can help and be less of a hazard 3. Keep bedding dry and clean 4. Scratch grains 5. I did a ton of research before purchasing my chicks for the first time. My main focus was egg color and temperament and the Easter Egger stuck out for sure. Not only did I find that most chicken keepers almost always have an EE in their flock but I didn’t read or hear anything negative about them. That was enough for me!
