Episode 28 is now LIVE!

This week, we switch things up with our first-ever returning guest: David S! We discuss the hot stove in Baseball, breaking news about Tom Brady, how The Batman stacks up to the competition, The Weeknd's new album, Dawn FM, and what awaits us all afterlife. While we don't have all the answers, we can be sure of two things: death, and this episode is awesome!

Thanks again to our special guest, and friend of the pod David Schlosser for joining us once again!

This week's Jam Session is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's latest album, Butterfly 3000.

Known for switching up their sound on each album, King Giz's 18th studio album has been described as a "sonic day dream", which I think is an apt description. Give it a listen on Spotify at the link below!

For episode 24, we'll be watching Jordan Peele's Us. While Get Out, a movie we discussed in episode 4, got tones of hype, Us did not, so we take a look to see if this is a hidden gem or a sophomore slump.

Episode 19 is now LIVE!

This week, we discuss some big moves around the sports world including some major signing by the Blue Jays, a head-scratcher by the Rockies, and a pair of First Overall Picks getting swapped in the NFL. As well, we throw it back to the early nineties and the kings of Synth-Pop with Depeche Mode's Violator, before flipping forward to the early Aughts to talk about the dystopian Battle Royale that predicted the YA fiction craze, before looking ahead to what 2021 has in store for us all.

This week, we have a (very) long talk with our good friend Jeff Greenberg about sports in the bubble, why Arcade Fire's Win Butler is the most important songwriter of our generation, the right way to watch wrestling (and how it can help you better understand art and life), and why more people have not seen the 2006 masterpiece The Lives of Others.

The movie of the week for the upcoming podcast is the 2006 German film, The Lives of Others. Winner of the best foreign-language film at the 79th Oscars, the movie follows a member of the East German secret police in 1984 tasked with spying on a couple, but quickly finds himself invested in their lives. A true masterpiece, the only problem I had with the movie is that it's a bit hard to find online, as it is on none of the major steaming sites.

This week's Jam Session is Arcade Fire's second (and most under-appreciated) album, Neon Bible. Sandwiched between Funeral & The Suburbs, this 2007 album is largely forgotten from the casual Arcade Fire fan, but we thought this deeply moving and emotional album deserved a deeper dive.

The movie of this week is If Beale Street Could Talk, the 2018 indie darling based on the James Baldwin book of the same name. In his follow up to 2016's best picture winner Moonlight, director Barry Jenkins tells the story of a couple in 1970s Harlem trying to build a life together.
