Lando Norris has been cleared to race in Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix . Lando was checked at the trackside medical centre and then sent to a local hospital for a precautionary x-ray of his elbow. After topping both Q1 and Q2 he lost the car at Eau Rouge during Q3 in very wet conditions, hit the barriers at Raidillon and spun several times across the track, as you can see in the video below.
"Following precautionary checks after an accident during qualifying at the Belgian Grand Prix, Lando Norris has been cleared to compete in the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix by the trackside doctor and FIA medical delegate," a spokesman said.
Lando has since posted a message on his Instagram thanking his fans for the messages of support, and adding: "Big crash and feeling a little bruised but I'm well and recovering ready for the race tomorrow."
Norris, despite his crash, qualified a provisional ninth for the Belgian GP but may start lower down – or from the pit lane – depending on the damage to his MCL35M car, and potential grid penalties he may incur should key parts need to be replaced.
