This week we explore the incredible career of the brilliant and prolific British character actor Percy Herbert. Chances are if you’ve seen some of the all time classic war movies of the 1950s, 60s and 70s then you’ll recognise Percy Herbert. We are thrilled to be joined by his daughter Katrina Wood!

Katrina shares some incredible stories about her father and the many films he worked on. With over 90 film and TV appearances he became one of Britain’s most recognisable supporting actors with roles in Cockleshell Heroes, A Hill In Korea, The Bridge on the River Kwai, Sea of Sand, Tunes of Glory Guns at Batasi, Tobruk and The Wild Geese.

This week we look at Micheal Bay’s 2016 film ’13 Hours’, which depicts the September 2012 attacks on the US embassy and CIA annexes in Benghazi, Libya.

The film stars John Krasinski of The Office fame along with James Badge Dale famous for playing Robert Leckie in The Pacific, the film has all the Bay hallmarks of explosions and frantic action. But is perhaps his best work since the 1990s.

Directed by Oscar nominee Peter Yates the film deals with revenge showing how far one can go when consumed by it. O’Toole plays Murphy a Royal Navy mechanic who vows to sink the U-Boat responsible for sinking his ship and gunning down his crew mates.

This week we begin ‘Operation Delta Force December’ reviewing all the films in the late 90s Operation Delta Force franchise. The film stars Ernie Hudson, Jeff Fahey and Rob Stewart and follows an elite Delta Force team battling a group of South African terrorists!

Joining us for our first episode of this action packed month is the film’s Director Sam Firstenberg. Known for directing cult classics such as American Ninja and Cyborg Cop, Sam tells us all about his time shooting in South Africa, working with a ex-Navy SEAL advisor and improvising on set. This week sees the release of ‘The Great Escaper’ the latest Micheal Caine film. The 90-year-old 2 time Oscar winner is back, playing Bernie Jordan. The film tells the fictionalised true story of a veteran of the Normandy landings who under took a solo trip to the 70th D-day anniversary commemorations.

His trip became worldwide news and saw Jordan dubbed ‘The Great Escaper’. The film co-stars the late Glenda Jackson and includes an excellent turn from John Standing. The film explores themes of reflection and survivor guilt, catch it in cinemas on 6th October.
