There is one saying I have when it comes to start-ups and I think it still holds true to this day. If all start-ups could have 30-minute meetings, they would all be sucessful. And I do mean it.
If there is something hat cannot be solved in a 30-minute meeting, itโs either too big a problem that will require additional brainstorming, or you are filling your time with unnecessary chatter. I see a lot of people starting out that just want to be in a meeting for the sake of being in a meeting and because it makes them feel โlike a bossโ. And while thatโs great for the ego, itโs inefficient for the business.
There are so many other things you can do with your start-up in the meanwhile, so why not focus on clear and conscice communication? That, of course, doesnโt mean to take away scheduling and planning entire months worth of content, Iโm talking here only about the sheer โlet me update youโ meetings.
If every start-up can learn how to minimize the back-and-forth and was able to introduce structure, the issues that need to be worked on will be much easier to see and work out.
How much do you take for such kinds of meetings?
