This is the first time a Black woman has been nominated to the Supreme Court in New Jersey in the state's 244-year history. Fabiana Pierre-Louis is a first-generation African American whose parents are from Haiti.

If confirmed by the state Senate, Fabiana Pierre-Louis will be the first black woman and only the third black justice to ever sit on the court.

New Jersey parks and golf courses reopened on Saturday after weeks of closures due to the coronavirus outbreak. Several hit capacity and had to turn visitors away.
