Do we still cry?
May our cry echo ceaselessly with time--cries not of despair, but of hope, courage, and ability to carry one's burden selflessly.
National Heroes Day was birthed to honor all heroes, serving as a mark for the anniversary of the Cry of Pugad Lawin or the beginning of the cries in the Philippine Revolution.
From Lapu-Lapu and Jose Rizal to healthcare professionals during COVID-19 and even the jeepney drivers who offer free rides, the Philippines has always been a land of heroes, with courage and resilience running through our blood and rooted in spirit. Our history is meticulously woven with the cries of those who stood up not just in the face of danger, but also to those in need.
Today, we cherish the legacy of freedom and democracy that our national heroes have fought and died for. Yet in reality, National Heroes Day is not just a remembrance; it is a call to action. Do their cries still stir our hearts to stand up and be the change? Or have we become deaf to the weight of their call? May National Heroes Day not remain a historic cry, but an ongoing battle cry that calls us to embody the spirit of a hero in our everyday lives. Because every act of kindness, no matter how small, already heeds someone's call. ๐

Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name. Restore us, Lord God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.
Psalm 80:18-19
Two days ago, it's just 2021 and now, another year has gone. May we keep moving forward, not turning backward and losing faith. We can always ask for restoration as we hope for better things this year to come into fruition. Hence, we call upon God who is the ultimate source of everything. Let us call forth our victories this year by calling upon His name first. We need the Lord to rescue us and give us the strength to carry on. He alone can quicken us so that we can bounce back even more graciously than before. :)
