Burnout is a gradual process. It doesn’t happen overnight, but it can creep up on you. And if the stressors in your life aren’t addressed, small things will become big things and eventually, you will burn out.
Unfortunately, with chronic illness and being neurodivergent living in the world that we do, burnout it’s almost inevitable. Many of us don’t even realize we are autistic or have a health issue until we burn out and hit rock bottom.
Self-care can seem almost impossible during burnout. So you do what you can. These are a few things that I enjoy doing and helped me when I was in a state of burnout where I could literally do nothing else.
It took time for you to get burnout, and it may take you a while to come out of it. So remember that when you feel guilty for not being “productive.”
The important thing is that you’re still here. Surviving each day, and that is enough. 💖
