Craig Green unveils the spring summer 2022 collection in a stunning editorial for

Titled “Forms of Nature,” the shapeshifting collection meditates on “Moncler’s adventurous spirit” and the “lighter side of functionality.”

Green’s lexicon is on full display here referencing many of his own collections and previous collaborations for Moncler.

Green approaches fashion from a perspective of completeness and utilitarianism. This collection may one day be seen as one of the pinnacles of that journey.

Alessandro Michele, creative director of Gucci, presents the Gucci FW22 show as part of Milan Fashion Week.

Shown in a hallway of mirrors, Michele titled the show “Exquisite Gucci.”

Continuing on his vision of grafting for Gucci (see Aria), Michele explained in the show notes, “I use the metaphor of the magical mirror to approach the phantasmagorical power of fashion, a scared power that radiates from the surface of the fabric. And there I work, on this tactile surface, through cross references, alliterations, loopholes and grafts.”

Marni presents the Fall Winter 2022 Volume 2 collection as part of Milan Fashion Week.

Described as a collection about “courage, time and feelings, condensed in objects of affection that are kept, cherished, mended,” the collection takes the talisman as protagonist.

A talisman is essentially an object such as a stone or a ring that provides one good luck and good fortune.

Imagined as a collection of such objects mangled together as if they were “stolen from a museum, jumbled together.”

Christopher Kane presents the fall winter 2022 collection as part of London Fashion Week. This collection is inspired by the sexual selection (sedation) of the natural world where animals “change their postures, colors and behaviors to compete and attract females.” Kane achieves this by playing with “subversive undertones with provocations in texture and color.”

Craig Green presents the fall winter 2022 collection. One of fashion’s greatest modern talents, Green’s traveler protagonist continues the journey under themes of transmigration, uniform, cross-cultural dialogues in a proto-identity that Green has long been defining since the label’s founding.

“Treading forwards, Craig Green’s travelers have re-appeared and begin to reconnect, forming a muddied rainbow procession that lights the way to new horizons.”

Highlights from LOEWE FW22 collection by Jonathan Anderson .anderson ⁣

“The relaxed silhouettes and breezy color palette is a departure from previous seasons. Said to be inspired although sardonically by the hype around the meta verse, Anderson intended to troll the concept as something more science fiction than reality.⁣

This is a fun and dazzling collection full of whimsy and contemporary cultural commentary. A few noteworthy moments include: futuristic body suits, warped deconstructions, sideways stripes, and translucent PVC coats that seem to question transparency in the digital age. Our favorite moment? A t-shirt of a screaming Munchian print pulled over a model’s face. After the past few years of pandemic, can’t we all relate?”⁣

Rick Owens ‘Strobe’ FW21. ⁣

Rick Owens presents the Fall Winter 2022 ‘Strobe’ collection as part of Paris Fashion Week. In one of Owens’ strongest recent showings, the ‘strobe’ collection is an introspective dive into the power structures that be. While at first glance it may seem ridiculous to walk models with fluorescent light fixtures attached to headpieces inspired by the Middle Kingdom, but as is often the case with Owens, there is a method to the madness.⁣

Owens has long been drawn to darker subcultural motifs all the while constructing something of an abstract mausoleum to himself oft inspired by heavy hitting moments of glory in human history. Where this collection departs is the duality between light and dark – introspection and optimism.⁣

There’s something of a balance in this collection: chokers, chain bits, and B**M moments contrast against delicate shredded cashmere sweaters and mauve pony hair. Owens once said in a New York Times interview from 2016 that his collection was, “very cheerful, nihilistic — not nihilistic — cheerfully doomed!” Owens seems interested in cancelling out positive and negative associations and exploring what remains when these extremes collide.⁣

INSPIRATION⁣

Raucous beauty. Tender gender. Blurring lines.⁣
A tribute to a life that we lost, a dreamy atmosphere with no boundaries.⁣
It is all about having fun again, touching, kissing people, exploring the forbidden, living carefree.⁣

An intimate scene of a young French couple kissing after partying with an air of unbridled sensuality. A play of rebel glam, smoky eyes, glitter, decadence: Bowie, Kurt Cobain, Basquiat, Marc Bolan.⁣

No convention, androgyny amplified: What’s men? What’s women?⁣

Photography and film by Casper Sejersen Shot in an historical mansion in Paris, rue de l’Université. Youth confronts tradition and reveals itself again in quite a surreal atmosphere.⁣

Music: Su***de – “Dream baby Dream forever”⁣
“Dream baby dream⁣
Oh baby you gotta keep those dreams burnin’⁣
Keep them dream burnin forever⁣
Dream baby dream”⁣

Stephen Ellcock has been diligently selecting iconography and references from history through to the present day. His efforts have culminated in a new book, The Book of Change, published by the Princeton Architectural Press. ⁣

Already a popular and influential force on Meta’s Facebook and Instagram, Ellcock selects images that he finds relevant to larger cultural forces we experience. ⁣

As he explains in the foreword to his book, his intention with the book “is not only to confront the past and present but also to provide a signpost for the future, a book that serves as a visual manifesto for a better world.” Read the full interview, link in bio. ⁣

“I love you, New York! My favorite place in the world. Anyone who lives in New York, you’re in a relationship with New York, and that is your number one relationship. You can date boys. You can have great jobs. You can do whatever you think you’re doing, but at the end of the day you are dating New York City. And that is the vibe.” — Linux⁣

A chameleon by nature, Linux, as she explains in the exclusive interview for RAIN, embodies personalities of the past such as Marilyn Monroe and Aughties celebrities like Paris Hilton and Lady Gaga, but her rise to fame also resembles the tale of one of Warhol’s superstars. ⁣

Now a full-time party promoter and NYC icon, Linux has become well known for her brutally honest column for Interview (though it recently moved to Paper), “What You Missed Last Month in New York City (According to Linux),” which spills the tea on the best parties and celebrity gossip from New York’s nightlife.⁣
