I was fortunate to see the American Ballet Theatre in NYC perform this work and it was inspiring movement from the dancers and a tidal wave of emotion form the music. I start the proem with “The Waves:Tuesday” from this recording.

A couple of comments about the changes to Wisconsin Public Radio. I have been a Music host on WPR for over 17 years through WPNE in Green Bay, 89.3FM. I have nothing but gratitude for the opportunity WPR has given me to continue my path in radio. I developed a Modern Jazz show (JazzODC) that went beyond the boundaries of Wisconsin and played on many stations around the country and in Canada. I switched my format to Experimental Electronic music (BeyondTheBarrier.net) and have again distributed the show throughout the US. None of this would have been possible without WPR.

I am disappointed though that the network is switching AWAY from locally curated music to music from one studio in Madison. We are volunteers at the regional stations, professionals in radio broadcasting, we take our shows and radio seriously. We wish WPR would see our content in the same light as the Madison shows. They do not and they will be ending our shows on May 20.

I will continue producing and distributing the show through PRX and through Public Radio stations around the country, that will not change. For Wisconsin listeners you will have to listen on one of the other public radio stations carrying the show either over the air or online or at my website.

I do highly recommend listening to WPR, of course, they are doing wonderful work and we need their voice in the state and public radio in the country. Listening is changing and radio is facing tough challenges. Support them when and how you can.

It has been an absolute joy to be broadcast on this Wisconsin network, there is so much more music to broadcast in the future and I will find new and exciting ways to play it for you!
