It is a deep honor to share an interview I recorded with my beloved friend, the extraordinary artist and performer about their life and work in the winter of 2020 at their home in Santa Fe. Tigre left this world of their own volition on October 1st, 2022. They were a dedicated community activist, painter, sculptor, muralist, and dancer, a regular collaborator of , and cofounder of alliance, to whom you can donate in their honor. Their work is on display at among other places. They recently brought their installation Facing the Fear Beast to . Their previous installation The Solacii now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

It is with immense grief yet quiet faith in the wisdom of their spirit that I share this conversation to celebrate their life and legacy. May it be a tonic for all those who are grieving, a source of inspiration for all those walking the path of the artist, and a source of comfort for all those facing their own demons, which, of course, is all of us. The pipeline could poison these waters and would contribute more to climate than Minnesota’s entire economy.
