Good evening!

As you know we are having some much needed downtime but to make sure that you're not missing out, we've dusted off a previously unreleased podcast for you.

We love some true crime on the podcast and while we often talk about killers and their victims that sadly did not survive, we don't very often talk about those that survived so in this episode we thought that we should change that.

This one comes with many trigger warnings so it's not for the feint of heart.

We may be having a little time off to rest but we've dusted off a couple of previously unreleased podcasts for your listening pleasure.

In this episode we are going to try and solve the biggest art heist in history; the robbery of the Isabella Gardner Stewart Museum which took place on the 18th of March, 1990 and remains unsolved.
Oh, and as there is still a $10 million dollar reward for the return of the artwork you might want to take notes!

Happy August! This year seems to be flying by.

If you've been following us for more than a second you'll know we are big book worms, as such we thought we would share some of our favourite books from July.

Drop us a comment if you've read or planned to read any of these. And, as always we love to hear when you're reading or any recommendations you might have.

This week we are releasing 4 podcasts on the Tudor Queens.

Tonight we take a look into the life and reign of Elizabeth I.
Known as the Virgin Queen, she has been placed in history almost as the opposite to her sister Mary. She had a difficult and dangerous childhood and as queen she would have to avoid Catholic plots and courtier infighting, as well as her own cousin plotting her death.

In the second episode of our Tudor Queen mini-series we take a look at the life and reign of England and Irelands first queen to rule in her own right, Mary I.

Known as Bloody Mary this podcast shows that there was more to her story than her religious zealousness, and although overshadowed by her younger sister Elizabeth I, Mary is a fascinating figure in her own right.

WE'RE BACK!
Sorry for the podcast radio silence, life has really kicked our butts.
BUT

Here we are again! This time we talk about 4 more awesome women in archaeology:

Anne Robertson who won international recognition with the publication of the collection of Anglo-Saxon Coins in the Glasgow collections.

Brenda Haywood who became the first woman in “professional” British archaeology.

Yusra the Palestinian woman who is credited with the discovery of Tabun 1, a 120,000-year-old Neanderthal skull from Tabun Cave.

Margaret Barbour Simpson who is believed to be the first professional female archaeologist in Scotland.

This month on the Sagas blog we are looking at women who competed in the Olympics.

Kicking us off in style is Olympic Medallist Alice Coachman. Alice was the first Black woman from any country to win an Olympic gold medal, and the only American woman to win a gold medal at the 1948 Olympic Games.

Alice became a pioneer, leading the way for female African-American Olympic track stars like Wilma Rudolph, Evelyn Ashford, Florence Griffith Joyner and Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

Happy July! (I know, we can't believe it's July either)

from July 26th - August 11th the Olympic Games ( the ###III Olympiad) will be hosted in Paris. So in Sagas fashion our blog posts will focus on a couple of the women to have competed in the games.

The Paris games hold a history of their own for the women competing as it was the games held there in 1900 that saw women compete for the very first time.
Of a total of 997 athletes, 22 women competed in just five sports: tennis, sailing, croquet, equestrianism and golf.

Since 1991, any new sport seeking to join the Olympic programme must have women’s competitions. Despite this, it wasn't until 2012 Games (held in London), with the addition of women’s boxing to the Olympic programme, were women competed in all the sports on the programme.

Keep an eye out for our posts this month!

June is a month in which we celebrate all members of the LGBTQ+ community and so for Pride Month our posts will focus on those in the community.

This time we look at q***r Jewish British artist, Gluck. Gluck refused to use any forenames or prefixes, instead adopting a gender neutral name.

They had many le***an relationships which went on to inspire their artwork.

When we started talking about Women in Faith month, we thought it would be interesting to see if there were any saints with our names.
Gemma discovered Saint Emily and that post is also available on our blog, but when I saw that Saint Gemma was the patron of an interesting mix - Students, Pharmacists, Paratroopers and Parachutists to name a few - I knew that I had to take a deeper look.
