He hasnt gone to school. He is year 11 student at Suzanne Cory High School.

fatal stabbing - Ormond

Homicide Squad detectives are releasing details and images of two men they are searching for following a stabbing in Ormond yesterday where one man was killed and another was seriously injured.

A search is currently underway for brothers Abhijeet Abhijeet and Robin Gartan, both of Indian descent.

Abhijeet is 26-years-old and described as being 170cm tall with a solid build and black hair.

Gartan is 27-years-old and is also described as being 170cm tall with a solid build and black hair.

It’s believed they are travelling in a stolen 2014 white Toyota Camry sedan with registration 1ZO 2QW.

The pair was last seen in the Ormond area in the early hours of Sunday, 5 May shortly after the incident occurred.

Emergency services were called to a residential property about 1am on Sunday, 5 May following reports of a dispute.

Upon arrival, two men were located with stab wounds.

A 30-year-old Noble Park man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, while a 22-year-old Noble Park was taken to hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.

It’s understood two other men fled the scene following the incident and police are continuing to search for the pair.

It’s believed the parties involved in the incident were known to each other and police are still working to establish the cause of the dispute.

Homicide Squad detectives are today releasing images of Abhijeet and Gartan, as well as an image of the vehicle they are believed to be travelling in.

Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who knows the current whereabouts of these men.

Anyone who sights the pair is urged not to approach them and to contact triple zero (000) immediately.

More Schools To Offer Hindi And Punjabi Language Studies

The Allan Labor Government is giving more Victorian students the opportunity to learn Hindi and Punjabi in VCE.

Minister for Education Ben Carroll today announced the language program is rolling out across schools in Melbourne’s western, northern and southeastern suburbs, backed by a $3.5 million investment from the Victorian Budget 2023/24.

The language programs will become available at Cranbourne North’s Alkira Secondary College, Wyndham Central Secondary College in Werribee and Mount Ridley P-12 College in Craigieburn.

The three leading schools will also be able to provide professional learning support and resources for teachers of Hindi or Punjabi at other schools.

More than 20 languages other than English are taught at government schools but there are limited options for students to learn Hindi or Punjabi – and these new programs will encourage more students to learn the two languages at a VCE level.

Studying languages other than English at school creates important links for multicultural Victorians with their heritage, while also improving literacy and communication skills.

Victoria has the highest Indian population in Australia – according to census data, there are more than 170,000 Victorians who speak Hindi and Punjabi in our state.

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating after a deceased person was located in Buckley, near Winchelsea, this afternoon.

Officers located the deceased person on Mount Po***ck Road about midday.

A second crime scene has been established at a residential address on Mirka Way, Point Cook and is believed to be connected to the homicide.

Investigators are treating the death as suspicious.

At this stage in the investigation, it is believed the parties involved are known to one another and the offender may have fled overseas Ashok Raj

There is no immediate threat to the community and no arrests have been made.
