The south willow st area is only shut down for one day. Christmas. You’ll see the mall of NH open right back to normal probably without Christmas decor in less than a few hours.
I’m on the camp of Elmo of “wishing for Christmas every day*”
*Part of December 24th, fully 25th and 26th (Sunday hours)

You'd logically think I'd agree a lot in this video from Bianca Graulau - but this YouTuber indicated local media and has an agenda too... but what am I to know, I don't get broadcast media myself apparently...
She explains her grievances working for Tegna’s KXTV and either oversimplified how the industry works then complains about she wasn’t allowed to cover certain stories.

Local news sucks for sure in many ways, because some of those “stories” had a beef would’ve aired if they had local interest programs (ala Great Day or People are Talking), the other annoying part was how she felt she was working for a network, the networks don’t control affiliates. In terms of stories not airing Tegna is a company of consultants, if they knew what they were doing they’d have your job anyways.

And also she seemed she used Sacramento to go up the ranks, so covering an out of country or state or town story doesn’t resonate with locals, and that defeats the purpose of media. Also she has a really stiff, dead serious delivery. Lacks the ability to smile, that's really important in local for goodness sake!

In terms of going more visual I don’t like the cinematic visuals, drones over copters, CGI over standard Chyrons, and multiple cameras at 24 frames a second. Give me a freckin ENG Camera, get rid of the PR and PIOs, and understand journalists should be pals with the powerful. That part seemed to be totally missed.

She misses the point because she doesn’t get the industry and the role of what local media should play. Stick to print if you askd me. Ground dot news is not for the pros, because we know who owns what and what's more management heavy.

I worked in corporate media for 8 years, and then I quit to create this channel. Here's the story of why I left TV news to become an independent journalist. ...

Since my handle doesn’t have “TV” on the handle. I’m literally a newsie in all media. The reported the other day the financial struggles of the granite states largest newspaper that was once called The Union Leader and sharp subscriber drops since 1999. All the things I’ve complained about is one thing.

The pictured comments section was interesting to read

The UL is so 2000-late. The paper is still stuck in a hybrid media model the year when president obama got elected. The page has stuck as an aggregator to their very dated website. They are NOT on instagram — acting as a parking spot for their branding.

Joe McQuaid’s final editorial had the undertone that hard copy newspapers will always have value. Well with only 20something full staff with only ONE photog (this explains why they rip photos from Facebook with fake credit) well they did this to themselves.
They really cater to older boomers and remaining Silents who refuse to use new tech.

the UL didn’t need to go so far in podcasting or be on tictok entirely. but they needed to fine new audiences to along with the content.

The content was quickly not as valuable as the paper it was being print on

I really give high credit to because they have shown how to do a daily paper in a tabloid size in a modern world of tech and still ace it in print. And it’s sold for free!!!!!!!! Maybe the should go up north to do a follow up…they’re doing something the others (the Monitor or Telegraph as well) can’t do

You know the GMV is the trailer company behind macys parades, presidential inaugurations, NASCAR and NFL games as well as being ESPN, Fox Sports and NBC’s primary trailer company? It’s based in the next town over. And you i tried to slide in their DMs? Hoping I could punched wire?
That explains why I had to take early retirement at 37 from ENG Ops

On the final days of ’s last day as the top exec of the Granite State your humble newsie wanted to document video and photos of the what the New Hampshire State House was like.
Unfortunately the governors office was having a holiday tea party for state employees to my chagrin I didn’t check ahead. I looked like a stringer/tourist so I didn’t feel comfortable. I wanted to capture his Apple Monitor/// and an computer that is well known to locals, and my tech audience of and could ID.
While I do not want to discuss politics per se, the governor was well known for being accessible to ALL NHites.

The Governor Elect has made it very clear that space will only be for a certain groups of people.
It was really important to capture the democracy before it is temporarily halted for a couple of years. Something media outlets like The Competition has refused to cover.

Certainly I don’t look like a state employee…

On this day in 1987, Wall Street premiered. This phone would cost $12,000 in today’s prices. It took 10 hours to charge and the battery lasted 30 minutes.

I really wished this channel became another housewives network a decade ago and no one would really notice one of the cable news channels signed off. It’s gonna break apart by 2026 with NBCU shedding its assets! Let’s hope!
