Part 2: Figuring it out. One way or another.
Part 1: I think we’re going to sell our piano. No one has played it in years, me especially.
With the thought of it going away, suddenly I wanted to play it. To reconnect with that younger part of me when I played way (way) back when. I used to play this song “Send in the Clowns” as a teen and my mom would peek around the corner listening to me, watching me play. It was always one of her favorites.
I still remember what it felt like to be young.
I remember how I felt when I was the same ages that my son and daughter are now.
I guess that I’m feeling nostalgic. I’m feeling all kinds of feelings. My son is visiting colleges this weekend, as he makes his final decision to where he wants to go this fall.
Time is really going by fast now. We are coming upon a letting go process now. Of memories, of ego, of things.
Reality checks are happening. And looking to our future. It’s all about choices, those that we’ve made and those that we will make.
I asked my husband recently how he wants to feel in his life. He answered “peace.” For me, it’s ‘freedom.” Of course I’ll take that peace, too.
Some choices of how we move forward in our near future depends on how we want to be in our later future.
Life is weird and tender and emotional.
Anyway, this is a video of me testing out that muscle memory and giving myself the reminder that I can figure things out, even in the messy middle. Part 2: coming next where I’m figuring it out in real time.
Intuition! Signs & synchronicities! Connecting with loved ones who have passed!
Today on Hold the Light podcast I’m talking with Orly Altaras, a psychic medium, about all these things and more. I love the stories she shares! @laraandlou
I met Orly through an online community we both belonged to and it was an instant connection. Since meeting, we’ve talked many times, we’ve done an IG Live together and we hosted a New Moon Ceremony in person together. (We’re going to do a workshop together, so stay tuned!)
As a psychic medium, Orly offers 1:1 sessions with people helping them to connect with loved ones on the other side; she does small group readings; she leads classes on how to tap into your intuition; and also is the owner of Lara & Lou, an online shop that provides goods and services for your spirit and home.

Have you ever had the experience of a sound bath? It’s truly magical.
That’s how I met Alison Liepzig, who is a guest on Hold the Light podcast today. @alisonleipzig
Ali led a sound bath experience in my hometown of Los Angeles, which I was able to attend after hearing about Ali’s work from a friend. When it was over, I knew I wanted to talk with Ali here on Hold the Light.
Ali has her hands in several spiritually-inspired spaces. She is the co-founder of Soul Camp Creative, which is a sacred strategy house committed to serving spiritual entrepreneurs. She’s also a spiritual teacher, retreat and camp leader, and a sound and vibrational healer.
It’s her work with sound and vibration that we’re focusing on today.
I’m excited for you to hear this conversation and learn more about the power of sound.

Making it easy to meditate! ✨ The one thing I hear over and over is the importance of having a meditation practice. To make it part of our daily devotion and dedication. It’s one of the highest forms of self-care. And it can be however you want to do it—from one minute to 20, or beyond. Sit in silence, or repeat a mantra, or listen to a guided meditation. Figure out whatever feels right to you! Allow it to change and morph. There are no rules—except to make time to do it daily.
Direct message me the word SHORTCUT for my free “Illuminate Your Light” meditation and instructions on how to set up a shortcut on your iPhone that immediately puts your phone on Do Not Disturb and loads the meditation within seconds. ✨ My mission is to make it easy so that it becomes a habit. Your present and future self will thank you.
