So the COD:MWII Campaign is done!!! Boy was there one hell of a plot twist!
I will say that was one of the longer COD campaigns. It also is imo the best, story wise, in quite a while!
For anyone who would rather watch it before you buy, or just wants to follow Ghost and Price’s continued story from yonder years, all 8-9hrs of it is up as VOD on Twitch. The first 3:30hrs is up on YouTube and part two is processing now and should publish within the hour.

So if you are still reading, now we get to the issues, some of which are crippling for a certain console, and some are just insane. Also my honest, non-incentivized recommendation is at the end.
I go down this rabbit hole in the stream, and not nicely. It is true Activision at their finest. First, and I left this alone originally, I have this for the PC and PS5. Why? The PS5 version is completely unplayable. It uses streaming HD graphics just like Warzone and much like Warzone, the PS5 version isn’t designed to properly pre-stream, cache and process those graphics. So if you are using 4K, with VRR and HDR enabled, that is a no go. The game won’t fully render and you won’t be able to go past the first mission. Additionally the option to turn that feature off and use the installed graphics is current bugged as well to the point of not working.
Now to make that better, I found out the issues beyond my RTX3080 being at max load during the first video. After a crash about 50min in, I started digging and for some reason the game auto defaulted to 260 frames per second. There is ZERO reason for it to default to that in 1080 mode. The downside, when you change it to a more reasonable number or have it match your refresh rate (165 in my case) it causes the game to crash religiously. As I said, true to Activision standards.
It is still my favorite COD campaign in many years, but the sheer amount of bugs, all of which were reported months ago in beta are insane. The PS5 one is just point blank crippling. I’d love to say I expect them to fix them, but given they haven’t yet and even Warzone has had the same PS5 bug since earlier this year, it isn’t promising!
Would I recommend the game, just from the solo campaign point? Yes, provided you don’t have a PS5 using 4k + VRR + HDR, if you do, then wait to see if it gets fixed. XBox and PC both hands down would recommend it. Just know for PC if you have a higher end RTX (3060 or higher I’d assume) then tinker with your settings, the defaults are insane.
