IMPORTANT COVID UPDATE FOR BIRMINGHAM

All planned procedures at a major hospital in Birmingham have been postponed because of a surge in admissions of Covid patients, as well as other seriously ill people.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital said it had been an "extremely difficult" decision, which hadn't been taken lightly.

Patients affected until the end of November will be contacted by the hospital trust.

The decision will be reviewed on an on-going basis.

At midnight we are back into lockdown for a month. Hopefully it's not as much of a shock having been through this once already, but we know for some it's not going to be easy.

At times like this we'd like to be able to help but we aren't doing the heroic work of our medical staff, emergency services, shop workers and all the people who keep us going through lockdown. All we do is talk bo****ks in the hope it might be entertaining.

So here's what we can do. If you want to talk to someone coz you are bored or just need someone to listen, we can do that. Just let us know. And the other thing we can do, which we hope might help cheer you up a bit, is to keep making the podcast and give you half an hour each week where we take you away from your worries and maybe make you laugh or at least smile.
